Our basketball team is light years ahead of last year

Nov 21, 2013, 11:08 PM

KJ, Roper, Nnoko, Hall, Blossomgame, Djambo. They actually play together. No selfishness like we've had to deal with the last couple of years. 14th in the ACC my ####!

glad we didn't fire the coach

Really nice win tonight. Temple is down by their standards

which are pretty darn good considering they've been to 6 straight NCAA tourney's. But they have talent and Dunphy is an excellent coach. Another game of this type tomorrow night as Davidson and McKillop are the same thing

Two things that are different from the laat couple of years are:
1)Depth!
2)Shooters.We actually have some guys that now have
a reasonable chance to hit some long range shots when kicked back out to them.

and physicality

The team definitely earned some Brownell points tonight.

if they stay the course

they are going to be a nightmare for the teams with size who lack quickness in the post and wings. We won't outsize anyone but if we get solid guard play and limit turnovers we will be hell to deal with defensively and athletically. It's still early but it looks like there is a lot of chemistry. BB is a hell of a coach. He looks like he schemes the talent instead of trying to make talent play a scheme, especially defensively. Nothing like a basketball team that plays relentless defense. Miserable team to play against.

He definitely schemes to the talent he has available.

Great observation you made. That's why we played a slower tempo the last couple of years. It was funny to watch people on here complain about Brownell's "boring" offense, having no idea that he only did that to give us the best chance to win against what were usually superior teams with more talent. Now that he's getting his players who fit his system, we can run more up-tempo when it's there and better execute the motion offense.

He's a really great coach, and I hope the casual basketball fans keep supporting him. If so, they won't be sorry.
