Just don’t come to the Chicago area and think you will be getting chili on a hot dog. These people think it should have pickles, onion, tomato and other vegetables on it. Better not ask for ketchup, as they think you are a freak. I refuse to buy a hot dog in this area. Do my own thing.

The only hot dogs I would eat in the Chicago area was at a baseball game, mostly at Comiskey Park at the Sox games but a couple times did have a couple at Wrigley Field when I had a work invitation. Those were just the dog and bun and no veggies. Added mustard and occasionally ketchup and didn't care what everyone else thought. I really got the looks when I stopped by the Blue Moon stand.

grown from nature rather than modified seed. By the time veggies get to the store they are soft and worthless unless you cook them. So slaw isn't the same today as it was 25 years ago before South America and Mexico grew everything we find in local stores.
I don't mind veggies grown with fertilizer as long as they are heirloom and not GMO. A little nitrogen never hurt a fly.

Well, I do like slaw and chili on a hot dog. BUT, if you've never tried BBQ meat (instead of chili) on a hot dog, you're missing out. Was a "big thang" when I was stationed overseas and the only American contractor dog vendor on base sold them. Was/is the bomb. With some onions and stripe of mustard. Oh yea.

Latecomer to the thread, but yes on the slaw, on the chili, on the onions, and mustard. Hard to believe anyone has tried it and not loved it! Cheese doesn’t hurt either. Relish too (if not already in the slaw). All of this applies to breasts and sausages too for that matter. Haha, I typed brats, but got a laugh from autocorrect so I left that there for community enjoyment.
