Proven principle and accountability of any organization...

Free market strategy: prices are determined by competition and not by the opinions of a few: that is, businesses can maximize efficiency when government intervention is minimized.
A company that invests in the best equipment cannot compete if it does not use the same strategy when selecting managers – this also means managers are removed when necessary to benefit the greater good.
To maximize success, Clemson University must do the same. Success should not be defined as some nebulous idea, or a bunch of stuff that contaminates the definition. Success is winning: in the classroom, on the football field, on the basketball court, on the baseball field, in commerce and industry, in the job market, etc.
Clemson should aspire to have a reputation that says - you can accomplish anything here because Clemson believes in winning.
The success of Clemson University is a reflection of our Board of Trustees. We can all hope that their leadership theme will encourage the unfettered success of the Clemson Community.

A fabulous post but remember that much of education today has become political where there is no responsibility and even ;less demands for performance.
