Oregon and Iowa jump us? Really?

I’m sure CU would be favored by a ton against Iowa. Probably Oregon too.

Doesn’t matter just win one game at a time. Still in control of our own destiny.

Don’t think the Sky is falling but we are a long ways from the 2015,16 and 18 teams . We don’t have those monsters that take over games and make the coaches look good . We do have players that can be those game changers if put in the right situations. Our D will win 80% of the games this season. Giving the Coaches plenty of time to have a perfect game plan for the big boys of the CFP. There is no excuse but bad coaching if we don’t cake walk through the ACC.

We are 1-1 with the lone win against SC State and an offense that can't seems like a scattered 1000 piece puzzle.

I would hesitate to call Iowa State excellent. Clemson would mop the floor with either of those teams.

Oregon beat Ohio State at home. We were hammered by Ohio State with Trevor and ETN at a neutral site. Voters are dying for new teams in the playoffs and "an equal playing field" to include superb Bama.

As ESPN says, America is tired of seeing the same teams in the playoff every year. They really, really want to see someone else play Alabama for the Championship.

I really hope Alabama loses a game so they will temporarily drop to #2 in the polls/standings.

No way! Oregon would beat by 10 and Iowa would be like the Georgia game. You people are crazy if you think we are top 5 right. No way in Hell!! Top 10 but not 5 not right now.

high enough for now! If we keep winning, and somewhat impressively, two or three of the teams ahead of us now will lose eventually. Just worry about us and keep winning...we will be ok!

But two? We’re going to need a lot of help from the teams ahead of us for that. To the guy who said “we control our own destiny” - dude, you need to put the bong and the Wild Turkey down and get help.

If we don't want to be disrespected we shouldn't look like garbage on national TV against the only elite team we will play all season.

50/50 split.
We could muster enough offense to get Iowa.
But Oregon takes us out.

Once again who gives a crap about AP and coaches rankings? The committee has shown that the only rankings that matter are their final 4. People stop worrying about nonsense that means absolutely nothing to us.

Favored "by a ton". Seriously?
Sep 12, 2021, 8:24 PM

Feel free to drink all of the homer Kool Aid you want but I don't think your opinion is grounded in reality.
Our offense would have serious trouble with Oregon's D-line and pass rush. They went to the Horseshoe and beat Ohio State without the best defensive player in America (Kayvon Thibodeaux) and their starting MLB (Justin Flowe) who had 14 tackles in week 1. Not only that, they lost 3 DEs during the game to injuries. If Thibodeaux had played, UO's pass rush would have bothered CJ Stroud the entire game and the score wouldn't have been close.
It's hard to tell with Iowa. They beat the living snot out of IU in week 1 and controlled Iowa State in game 2. While that's impressive, I don't believe you can judge them until they play Penn State and Wisconsin.
On a neutral field, we would be favored to beat both teams but not "by a ton" (whatever that is supposed to mean).
No doubt Oregon should be ranked ahead of us at this time. Iowa is debatable.

Oregon and Iowa both deserve to be ahead of us.
It’ll all work it’s way out if we just keep winning, one game at a time at this point. We have NO room for error and we better stop playing with fire or will get burned and lose another one.
SO many mistakes to clean up.

OREGON Jumping to #4 I can Understand.
However, IOWA and Texas A&M Not at All.
A game with CLEMSON vs. OREGON be pretty Close.
Me thinks both CLEMSON and OREGON Mop up IOWA, IOWA ST., and TEXAS A&M.
These Writers and Analysts Love to Kiss the Rear of any $EC team they can in the TOP 25, and any chance they get.
Also, living on the West Coast for Ten years, And being an SC TROJAN, I can also tell you how accustomed I've been to watching the PAC 10 Or 12 Lose to Awful teams following a Huge Non-Conference Win.
The Polls, ESPN, its Anti CLEMSON Analysts, FineBUM and the rest of them can try to keep TIGERS Out, but theres plenty of time for OREGON, IOWA to CHOKE. Opening the door for CLEMSON.
And TEXAS A&M And IOWA at this moment, are the 2 schools I'd Mark down as Pretenders. Very Likely to Lose these next 2 weeks.

Their QB is out 1-2 months with a fractured ankle. No doubt they will lose a game or two.
Iowa is almost certainly a pretender. This isn't close to being Kirk Ferentz' best team. He is one of the best in the country at squeezing the most out of his players.
Mario Cristobal's ability to coach is still a question mark to me. UO will have a couple of stinker games this season. We'll see if they can pull them out. Beating Ohio State in Columbus with both Thibodeaux and Flowe out shows their upside is very high.
