Orange Bowl Officiating

Yeah, I know this has been discussed, but I read the statistics in this morning's paper, and I have to have my say! (It is OK to criticize the officiating when you win!)
WE were penalized 15 (that's FIFTEEN)times for 144 YARDS! Ohio State was penalized 6 times for 60 yards. That disparity is bad enough, but look at this. We got no first downs by penalty, while they got 5! Right! They were awarded a first down by penalty FIVE times.
Additionally, who ever heard of a "bench" infraction 15 yard penalty in a critical game like this one. I don't remember hearing anything about a warning. Was there one?
AND, those anouncers said several times that the officials were doing a real good job!! Incredible!
I don't like feeling that the officials were prejudiced, but the evidence is pretty convincing!

The first sideline call was in conjunction with the Vic Beasley (Phantom throat slash) Superman call.

Those were 2 of the most ridiculous penalty calls I saw. Throat slashing, didn't see it, it look like the Arron Rogers move to me. No warning on sideline infractions, just 2 penalties, 1 5 yarder and then the 15. Pure BS. Hope we never see the AAC officials again. They are a bunch of idiots.

The 5 yarder came on Ellingtons run and the 15 came on the gatorade dump when we controlled the clock.
I've been to literally hundreds of football games and watched countless more on TV. I've never in my life seen a 15 yard sideline infraction.

Think the AAC is still chapped about the ACC plundering their conference? This was probably the last relevant game AAC refs would work so they tried to make an ACC team pay for it. Just my conspiracy theory anyway.

I wrote a letter to the AAC Commissioner and to Dan R. of Clemson saying that something was totally amiss with the officiating. Those officials had an agenda and it was perfectly clear. I asked for a personal and financial investigation into the background of all those officials to eliminate the possibility of any type of illegal activity. IMO, after watching football for over 60 years there definitely was something wrong. To all the contributors on this site: notice none of us have issues with pass interference calls, out of bounds calls, --calls that are totally discretionary in nature. WE won and overcame the obstacles but I truly believe there was something, not so good, going on with the officiating and we need to find out what for the integrity and good of college football! What say you?

The officals were doing a good job. They were doing everything in their powers to see to it that OSU won the game. Seriously, you are correct about the "bench" infractions, warning or no warning. I was wondering, however why OSU wasn't flagged for at least one.Urban Meyers came out on the field at least twice that I know of and even gave one offical an ear full yet nothing was called.
P.S. It is ok to criticize the officating when you lose, especially if it was so blatantly one sided like it was Friday night.

twice, the sugertit Refs pointed the wrong way on penalty on Ohio State, then caught his mistakes. he was so intent on helping his OS team, he got caught up in the moment.
