If you have the direct link, in Chrome right click and hit "paste and go", and right when the page starts loading, hit the x.

It makes sense why this works; the page will have to load the content before it starts the authentication sub, so I'm just stopping it before it gets to that point.

Most of the world has prob known this for a while.

that works on some subscription sites, but not all. Paste the paylink in the space and it will put it through.

Also Chrome incognito window will work a lot of times.

destroy the JS method that creates the interstitial popup in the first place.

Find where something like 
popup.classList.toggle("show");
is generated and then just undo it in the console with the associated removal method (in this case 
popup.classList.toggle("hide");
