Where would it rate on the all time list? If not, is it the best western series of all time?

which was kind of anti-climatic. But I'd put the series in the top ten myself. Just that opening scene where he is leaving to head off to deadwood and hangs the guy on the front porch to prevent him from being lynched by the mob.

I think that was on of two series where the opening scene set the table for a character so perfectly, the other being the opening scene of Justified. Timothy Olyphant has played two of my favorite characters of all time.

I binged watch Deadwood over a few day period maybe 3 years ago and really liked it. I was surprised I missed it, but somebody convinced me to watch it. I think it was really good. The language is rough if you need to hide from kids.
