Does nobody remember the doomsday scenarios?

This move insured the survival of the ACC. When speculation was wild with FSU and Va Tech to SEC Ga Tech and UMd to Big 10 and whatever else was a possibility where Clemson was left out, the ACC could have been forced into a merger with the entire big east.

Count me as one who believes this puts ND on the path to full time membership.

ND's 5 games a year does nothing to strengthen the conf.

Now we can only hope Big XII works out a deal to help with a $50 mil exit fee. But our admin obviously had its head up its ###, so that aint gonna happen either. Nothing the ACC has done in the last ... forever .. has been beneficial to Clemson.

Don't Forget "the dude" was the one who included Clemson in the Big 12 talks, other sources (orangebloods) had Clemson as a backup choice who may or may not be asked to join.

One thing that cannot be disputed...

Is that the ACC has only added members since the Chickens left in a huff years ago. Not a single other member institution has left, despite all of the talking heads and bloggers predicting that the conference was falling apart. We can talk all day long about whether the most recent new members have really added anything football-wise, but I do think that the presidents have succeeded so far at keeping the ACC viable and positioned for the future during a time of massive change.
