One of the greatest song writers of all time, imo...

Feb 19, 2019, 7:45 PM

So I was just a youngin when my mom and dad started to show some real wear and tear in their relationship. Unfortunately, they didn’t stand the test of time. My dad poured over this cat’s music incessantly. I learned his lyrics long before I understood their meaning.

Sadly he died fairly early too...

We could have had many more great songs if he lived longer.

Time in a bottle gets me everytime... it was written for his child and how he cherishes every moment with him. As soon as I think of my chillins when listening to that song... my vision gets blurry for some reason.

Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

My Dad loved him too......but then again,

Feb 19, 2019, 10:09 PM

my Dad loved all 70's emo music....Bread, Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, Pure Prairie league, you name it..

It's amazing I didn't end up like josephg®, sitting around calling quality hard rock bands redneck music.

Maybe you’re more like your dad than you care to admit?

Feb 19, 2019, 10:11 PM

Joe?

Saw Pure Prairie League in Tillman.

Bread? Meh, but remember Mitch making out to them in Dazed and Confused. Or was it Seals and Crofts?

oh man, I'm having flashbacks.......

Feb 19, 2019, 10:24 PM

Driving around in my Dad's 1973 Trans Am.....should have been blasting some Zeppelin or similar, but nooooooooo, just freaking Summer Breeze over, and over.....

Don't get me wrong, wouldn't trade those memories for anything, but I wish they had a better soundtrack.

Mitch was making out to Seals & Croft Summer Breeze.

And as far as Bread goes...this is one is so far against the grain of their catalog that our band was playing this one a few years back.

Oh, oh, never called Stones, Who, Zep, Cream

Feb 19, 2019, 10:31 PM [ in reply to My Dad loved him too......but then again, ]

, Traffic, Sex Pistols, The Faces, Iggy Pop, ABB, RHCP, WSP, Phish, Neil Young and CH, Black Crowes, Lou Reed, Dire Straits ...neck..y.

Don't worry about it man, playing music on top forty radio like with GNR and VH attracts a lot of deplorables and that overplayed shlt ruined those bands for me.

don't forget you called AC/DC necky.

Feb 19, 2019, 10:37 PM
