OMG FENTNYLLLLLLLLLL

Next time you hear of a cop fainting because of a "fentanyl" exposure, track down his ID, find his email, and send him a note letting him know to get his sack together.
Bottom line: It is basically impossible to OD from dermal exposure to fentanyl.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FAINTING COPS? Welp...there could be a cause:
"The toxicologists I’ve talked to have basically settled on what’s happening here, and it’s the same conclusion that my own experience with drugs pointed to: Cops are having panic attacks upon encountering fentanyl because they believe they are overdosing."
https://defector.com/cops-are-still-fainting-when-they-touch-fentanyl/Cops Are Still Fainting When They Touch Fentanyl | Defector Ryan Feldman was holding an IV bag when it happened. Something ripped when he pulled the line out and almost an entire bag, with 950 micrograms of liquid inside, spilled and doused his hand in fentanyl. “I was a little annoyed at first,” Feldman told me. “But then I realized: Sometimes in science an accident […]

A scientific study where the "scientist" evaluates toxicity on himself ?? By holding his cut up hand in a bucket of fentanyl laced liquid ??
"Didn't affect me ... its good"
You serious Clark ??
Where did this clown get his hands on a Class II Controlled Substance? I'm sure the DEA would like to talk with him.
This is where you lefties get ridiculed for your "science".

There is something really funny at work in this thread.

You post something that is basically a straightforward rebuke of a common urban legend.
And because it tangentially impacts cops, suddenly it is a partisan issue, and thus, "all lies."
You people are genuinely mentally impaired.

I have never heard of this until today. I assume that it came in your DNC talking point paper this morning; and why I’d immediately question it. Keep fighting the good fight, tho.
Cops bad!!!!

John Oliver had a bit on this a couple months ago.

Some professional toxicologists said you'd have to stand in a fentanyl-filled wind tunnel for like 30 minutes to inhale enough to have negative effects, and that it was virtually impossible to have ill effects, much less OD, from brief skin contact with it. What a weird trope that got really, really pervasive. I mean, I believed it for several years.

Well, it all tracks until you get to the science of it.

You know, not the science of watching police fainting on video and then believing that can be the only truth to it since a cop did it and we must always support the cops even though actual scientists say it's bunk because they're not cops they're nerds...
And as to the cops, I believe many/most believe it is a genuine reaction and if you're not aware of the science behind it who is to say it's not? The big mistake was, as the article mentions, the San Diego PD made a big stink about it knowing full well it's crap.

It has also been quoted by the same professionals stating many people react in many different ways across ALL narcotics and alcohol. If I felt I have encountered this drug after I have taken all precautionary measures , and still have a reaction? Of course I’ll take action. Bet!

Is there a reason I should?

It's not really in my job description. But if it was, should I freak the #### out if I came into contact with it and have a psychosomatic panic attack?

(cop or otherwise), does it matter WHY?
The fact is that somebody passed out due to an exposure to Fentnol. Why? Doesn't really matter in my opinion.
Drugs are bad.
I mean, I can take a bath in bath salts and be fine, but my cousin Lonnie smokes some of them and eats a woman's face off in Punta Gorda a few years back.
I once had a family member that smoked weed every day, and he lived to be 110. Had another that tried weed once and OD'd on it and his brain turnt to scrabmled eggs.
I know alot of you guys on here like drugs, even love drugs, but I think that all drugs are bad, ecxcpt for tylonol and shrooms.

effects of a substance vs. an emotional, psychological reaction caused by the fear of what somebody believes a substance may do to them, then...I don't know what to tell you. Only one of those is "real".

I would not go out of my way to expose myself

Just as I don't go out of my way to step in dog turds but if I was exposed I would not panic because you can't OD from such exposures.
