Opened another Albariño tonight. I can’t get enough of this grape, been just going down the row picking one after another.
Tonight’s was a Dozoe 2019 albariño blend from Pontevedra. Straw color, medium-light body, long legs for a white. Really bright on the nose, with almost a pastry character. Crisp on the palate, notes of green apple, lime zest, and undertones of minerals, like licking a wet rock. Tight, dry, refined finish that you’d expect out of a wine 3x the price.

Grapes that grows well here. Crazy how orange some of them can be. The vermentinos here can be quite nice too, Barboursville’s 2018 vermentino reserve is... chef’s kiss... spectacular.
