Ok, so correct me if I am wrong, but

Oct 5, 2014, 7:16 AM

2,3,4,6,8,14,16,17, and 19 all lost.

Wow.

Let's just win out and see where the cards fall. With Watson playing like this and the defense dominating, I'm not ready to count us out yet. Are our chances to make the playoff good? Not at all. But let's get in the conversation!

Also LOL coots.

And especially if we can win like we did yesterday we would be in the conversation.

I want to win and win in dominant fashion.

Realistically yesterday proved that

we can absolutely dominate both sides of the ball when motivated. NC State was not a playoff bound team or anything, but they were leading the conference in total offense. You can argue the schedule, etc, but the fact is they were coming in hot on offense, and we totally shut them down. I think we'd at least get into the conversation by winning out in, as you say, dominant fashion. A little luck wouldn't hurt either.

I think I read that the wolfpack was top 20 nationally in offense. They'd been averaging over 500 yards per game.

That was an awesome defensive performance by the good guys.

The biggest thing for now is that the coaching staff has to bring this team down to earth and tell them the season isn't over till mid January. Also the team has to play the entire game; they did everything possible to try to give NC state some points in the 4th. I know there was a lot of 3rd team defense guys in the game. Besides that little rant Great game go TIGERS.

You must be kidding, the most dominating game ever & you gripe over the 3rd & 4th team giving up a yard.....

Disagree.

I thought it was obvious BV and the defense wanted the shutout. They were not calling vanilla plays in the last couple minutes.

If you're using the AP poll, 15 and 18 lost also. 11 of the top 19 lost this week.

Our chances of a playoff spot are about .0000000001%. There will still be 6-8 teams with one loss or undefeated at the end of the season. Plus we'd need UGA and FSU to lose 2 and 3 games respectively to jump them.

But we can still finish 11-2 with a win over S. Carolina and another Orange Bowl win, and finish in the top 10 for the third straight year. Still a lot to play for.

With Watson and the rest of our offense returning, and enough on defense to be good on that side of the ball, i think we'll enter next season as a favorite to make the playoff.
