I admire your optimism. But three huge blowouts (with the opponents taking it easy on us) in as many weeks says there will be no tournament run. Clemson's not going to the tournament.

supposed to be the year when it came together - depth, experience, talent. Brownell had been here 10 years and had finally cobbled together some 4 and 5-star level talent, has an pre-season senior all-conference player and some other battle-tested players. Now, after living up to the promise early on, we have been reduced to a laughing stock by a stream of ugly blowouts where we looked totally unprepared and uninterested. When looking at the stunning mediocrity that has defined Brownell's tenure at Clemson, it's impossible to justify retaining him after the kind of total collapse we are witnessing right now. There is just nothing there to hang our hat on - nothing - yet there is plenty of justification for bringing down the axe. I know basketball is way down the priority list for our AD and BOD, but my gut tells me that even they can't continue to ignore such abject failure.

If we turn things around and make the NCAA Tournament, he will be back.
If we continue to play poorly, then I agree he will be gone.
I disagree with you that basketball is way down the priority list. I think DRad cares about having a winning program, but I think he realized when he got here that the program needed a lot more support in terms of facilities, staff, etc. to be a winner. I think he likes and respects Brad and felt it was only fair to give Brad what he needs to be successful. If it works, great, and if not, we are in a much better position to get a great coach to replace him.

I just watched his post game press conference and heard a lot of lame excuses. We don't have time. IF you make 2.5 million a year you better make time. Says we need to coach better. Then take a pay cut as you admitted you are not earning that kind of money. I have been saying now for five years. He can't get us to the next level. Send him and DRad packing.
