Florida man shoots another man on golf course over dog

While this was a criminal, over the top act of rage, I’m sure the man walking his dog is letting it crap on the golf course. I’ve recently had a situation where a new neighbors, a family of very unfriendly people from Michigan, would walk their dog right next door at night and let it take a dump right in my grass. I saw the father do it one night, through my upstairs window, went down and picked up the duty with a bag, and tossed it on their front porch right outside the front door. This has stared a feud that is still going on. I’m not gonna shoot at them or hit them with a golf club, but I can understand the feelings. If I see him doing it again, I’m gonna Relieve myself on their front porch

You are correct, if some bozo lets his dog repeatedly crap in my yard, I will go insane on you. There’s absolutely nothing more disrespectful you can do to a neighbor

Yep. Extremely disrespectful. I would probably pick it up with a shovel and fling it on their porch. That way it makes a mess for them.

Apr 28, 2022, 1:32 PM [ in reply to Re: Florida man shoots another man on golf course over dog ]

"hey man, it really kinda weird and effed up that you let your dog crap on my lawn without picking it up."

Have you tried talking to the guy to his face?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The one time I tried that... asking the lady politely not to

Apr 28, 2022, 2:06 PM

let her dog poop in my yard as she's walking it around the neighborhood... she got all defiant and defensive. Yelling about her "pickup bags" and all that. OK, fine... I tried to be nice. That's when I started adjusting my sprinkler heads to blast into the street, as I described in a post below. I sprayed her with cold water about a week later, and had a nice chuckle. And she stopped coming around to my side of the cul-de-sac. Problem solved.

I don’t know man…just spitballin’ here…but seems like if your neighbor were to sleep with your wife, that would be pretty disrespectful. Maybe not as bad as the dog crap thing…but I think that would be pretty bad too.

Agreed. I love dogs and my 2.5 year Goldendoodle may just be the most loved member in our family, but it is extremely important to be a responsible dog owner and pick up after them. And be a good neighbor.

There's plenty of just as disrespectful things a neighbor can do. Try having a drug dealer next door, loud music all night, parties with people parking in your yard, all day and night barking dogs, naked little kids running into your yard and on and on.
You do sound insane.

1. Traffic
2. Too many people in a small area - see #1
3. Heat and humidity. You can drink the air. Water dripping from the eaves of the house at 6AM and it hadn’t rained for days. 75-80 degrees at 6 AM pretty much all year except the month of February.
4. My wife couldn’t get a job because she wasn’t bilingual - no lie.
5. No place to go deer hunting
6. People in big cities aren’t friendly.
7. 750 miles from Clemson
8. Traffic
9. Lived next door to the same couple for 5 years. Never talked to them - they didn’t speak English. Talked to their son sometimes…
10. The part of Miami I worked in was a really bad area for crime. I worked night shift for a while and the cops actually told me to stop and the red light, look both ways then go. Sitting at a red light at 2 AM made you an easy target.
11. Cost of living was ridiculous. Housing, groceries, gas, restaurants, etc.
12. I actually started taking Spanish classes because I thought we might be there longer and there were too many people I couldn’t communicate with.
13. Traffic

Oh, I've battled dog poop idiots off and on for years...I've

Apr 28, 2022, 1:32 PM

been in this house for 26 years. At least 3 or 4 times I've had those dickweeds who walk their dogs and let them poop in other people's yards. Like my yard. First of all, I don't even understand how this ever became "acceptable". Why would I bring my dog to your house to sh!t?? I've always had dogs, the last 3 were boxers. I trained them from a pup to go to the back of the yard to do their business. That means I don't even have to scoop it up, it's so far away you can't even smell it from the house or the screened in back porch. Zero poop hassle for me for the rest of their lives. Why doesn't everyone do this??

Yes, most of the dickweeds have those little bags to scoop it up from your yard. But that only works if they pump out nice dry turds. If it's mushy, or even worse, diarrhea squirts... then it's impossible to get it all. So if I walk barefoot down to my mailbox, I'm getting your dogs chit squishing up between my toes, and I have to wash it off with a garden hose. What gives you the right to do this to me? It's my dammm yard, not yours. It's like, if I go walking in the neighborhood and feel the urge, I just barge into your house without asking permission and use your bathroom. In what universe does this make any sense??

Anyway, I solved this problem years ago. When I notice repeat offenders, I simply adjust a sprinkler head to blast water into the street. I watch for them, and when their dog wanders into my yard with his nose down, looking to poop... BOOM... the dog and the owner get blasted and soaked with water. (LOL). Trust me , it only takes a couple times and they completely avoid my side of the street. Works like a champ...

Also, there was a time when it had poured rain for a week &

Apr 28, 2022, 5:04 PM

there was no reason for a sprinkler to go off. [I mean, I am trying to be subtle about this. LOL] But I had a big can of cayenne pepper powder in the pantry. So I sprinkled a swath about 4 feet wide from the curb up into my yard. A couple days later I watched a dog cruise up into my yard for a few seconds with his nose down sniffing... his reaction was hilarious. Like the scene in Cool Hand Luke...

One of the advantages of working from home, I get to see the results of my handiwork...

perfect example of the current gun problem in this country

Everyone becomes Billy Bad@ss when they have their gun on them. Doing things they would normally be too scared to do.

Look at all the road rage shootings that keep happening.

Start a conflict or escalate it b/c you have a gun, someone responds, and then you shoot them.

oh yeah, Blue Sky's comment in dead on the money... now that

Apr 28, 2022, 5:27 PM [ in reply to perfect example of the current gun problem in this country ]

everybody is packing heat, they're much more likely to be bold and "bow up" on somebody and/or push a fairly innocent situation into a confrontation. They have no fear now, and have been waiting for an excuse to finally jerk their gun out and be a badazz. Situations in which normal, rational people would just walk away from trouble 40 years ago... some drunk in a bar is messing with you and itching for a fight, or he's flirting with your wife and making lewd comments, etc etc... you would just say "C'mon babe, let's get outta here, too many rednecks" and leave. Problem solved. Just walk away...

Nowadays, situations like that, or road rage, or just a disagreement over a parking space, whatever... if somebody is packing heat, they're all charged up with the false courage of their Glock, and it can turn deadly in a heartbeat.

Y'all make it sound like ppl walking around with finger on trigger everywhere. Y'all probably too scared to go have a nice dinner. The road rage and whomever else y'all are referring too, I guarantee that 99% of those people have felonies on their rap sheet and are not allowed to legally own a gun. You don't hear about persons with CWP's gunning down ppl especially innocent ppl.

Criminals are going to get guns no matter what! So I feel like anyone that wants to own a gun legally has every right to own and protect themselves according to laws.

Prime example taking guns away from public will increase murders and burglaries. When Australia took the guns away from private citizens, gun deaths went up like 140% the very next year but robberies went up like 800%. Numbers might be a little off but it was drastic as the bad people with guns became more bold, didn't turn them into the govt and knew not to worry about retaliation as public didn't own guns any longer.

Say what you want, but the US is a safer place with legal gun ownership. It's a matter of getting the guns away from the felons which won't happen when we have open borders.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Better when only hardened criminals have guns...
