Barker is busy altering figures to bolster school ranking in US News.
BOT is busy discussing tuition.

I agree and was just thinking the same thing...if this is hurting recruiting and is a "distraction"...why haven't we gotten a statement from TDP, JB or BOT pledging our allegiance and undying love to the ACC???

Could be they dont know yet. Imo, though, if clemson and fsu stay they are going to try and get some benefits and perks for their loyalty. Best way to do that is keep the acc scared you are leaving. There are benefits to staying but y'all and fsu deserve better treatment. If the acc isnt willing at this point to make some consessions they likely never will. I would play this for all its worth and if the tobacco road schools wont step off their high horse and get serious about whats best for everyone i would really consider leaving. No matter what the plan is its not time to tip your hand yet.

.....an ACC Grant of Rights signed by all of the conference members if it was serious about staying in the ACC and this instability was hurting its recruiting and harming the football program.

What good does it do to Clemson to push for everyone to pledge TV rights?
There are only a few schools that really "bring" the money in for the conference, of which Clemson is one of them.
The thing that scares me is that UNC, Duke, Wake and so forth get the idea to bring this to the table. They are the schools that would benefit from this, not Clemson.

seriously considering leaving now, but there are very few schools in the country out there who don't want to leave their options open. It does seem with recruiting season coming earlier and earlier as far as commitments, the crazy bs happening this time of year could affect things.
I think Dabo is going to be Dabo and Clemson is still Clemson and our recruiting will do fine regardless if we put it together on the field this year.

The deadline for withdrawing this year is 8/15. If we knew we were staying in the ACC and not going to withdraw, Wilkins/BOT/TDP would know by now; why not say so? In fact, we would benefit from saying so; it would end the uncertainty with recruits that Dabo is complaining about. If we knew we were staying Wilkins or TDP would say so - definitively. Instead what we got was a carefully worded quasi-denial that left the door wide open.
I bet if you ask Duke or Wake Forest you would get a much stronger, more definitive statement; they know they aren't going anywhere. The same goes for Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, UCLA, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, etc.. They all can tell you with almost absolute certainty. While technically their options may be open, they are staying put, and would say it. There must be a reason that Wilkins/TDP did not said that.
