Last year DJ's poor play was a surprise, given what he did filling in for Trevor as a freshman. But this year, we knew what we were getting. The offensive coaching staff had all offseason to reconfigure the offense around what DJ and our O-line are able to do. Yet, our offense looks to be running an almost identical scheme as last few years, a scheme that requires elite QB play to succeed.
I feel bad for DJ, but he's not at fault here. It's Dabo, Streeter, & Co. who refuse to try anything different or bring in any new ideas.
