Offense lost the game...

Jan 14, 2020, 12:32 AM

To beat a team like LSU, you have to score and occupy the ball. After we took the lead, about 7 of the next 8 possessions resulted in nothing. No way you can beat that team by consistently handing the ball back to them. Mindset wasn't aggressive enough. Had a couple of possessions in their territory we either punted or went for FG. Too passive.

And play calling was very bad. No short passing game at all. What about the TE? Had that big play in first half and then nothing. Tight man-to-man, what about crossing routes? Got to develop a TE passing threat. Really miss Hunter in the slot.

Defense sucked too. Our defense was always overrated. There has never been a good D in the history of football with a weak DL. We were a product of our weak competition.

I totally agree. Back during the chicken's streak against us, they did a lot of that. Ball control offense to keep us off the field. Got our offense out of rhythm. We needed to do that to LSU. We had them frustrated early, but our Offense didn't keep them off the field.
