Offense Line. Question for you more knowledgeable fans.

Oct 21, 2017, 5:37 PM

Will we be okay at offense line the next two years? I know we lose Hyatt and it appears we have lost out on a couple of top OL recruits. Might be a stupid question (and I hope it is).

not an expert, but the last couple of classes we have recruited at another level up front based on the offers these kids had. The coaches also mentioned they were very excited about true freshman like Noah Dehond Matt Bockhorst and Blake Vinson. John Simpson will be a great one. Crowder will graduate, and worst case scenario we return 3 starters if Hyatt leaves early. You could actually make an argument that we will be even better up front next year.

worst case, we return 2 starters. hearn is considering going early. not saying he should or will.. but he's exploring the possibility.

The main thing will be solidifying the Tackles if Hyatt leaves early. RT play hasn’t been the best to date. My guess is Hearn moves out there to play LT and the it’s another battle for the RT job like this year. Simpson should replace Crowder and plenty of RS guys in the mix next yr. Never say never that Clemson won get one of these 5* O lineman in their 2018 class.

I worry we will have a player, who's true position is guard; playing OT, and eventually getting exposed by speedy, athletic, elite DE's. Maybe we'll get lucky and 1 of the TE's will grow into an OL.
