Offense

25

I've seen a lot of talk about the offense in the spring game. As Cade told me after the game, they did what they could with what they had. Yesterday's offense was lacking a lot of what I've seen (and others have seen) this spring. There were no two-back sets (in fact, the running game was not what we've seen, outside-wise), no five-wides, not many four-wides, not a lot of backs flared out, etc. Yes this offense has fewer plays, but like under Chad Morris runs those plays out of different formations with shifting and motion. Yesterday was as basic as it comes. Against a really good defense. In previous scrimmages, the teams weren't split and it was just offense vs. defense. I do think Klubnik still needs work but he will be fine.

And knowing what we know about the WR, I like the future of that group. And yes I know Clemson is over the scholarship limit right now, but there are a lot of knowledgeable football folks around the program who wish Swinney would go get a WR in the portal. Would have to be a great fit, know the system, older, culture fit, etc. But if that guy comes open, it would really help this offense come September.

of his self like everyone else. My behavior would be better, somewhat, if the real Mr. Morbidtiger's sexy picture and name were out there for all the single ladies, all the single ladies.

David, thanks!

I know coaches/players don't think it was much. But, the schedule had to play a part in some of the timing I can't help but think.
You practice, practice, practice and then take a break then go play a spring game!

Walkthroughs only go so far(the team had walk throughs from my understanding but no real thud prior to).

And, no doubt it will affect the offense more because of timing and rhythm.

I think we are going to be fine. Based more on what I am hearing out of camp; not the Spring game.

That's good to hear.

And we have Riley here to help develop Cade. I would love see the OL step-up this year. This could solve a lot of our problems.

I agree with your experts about WR.

don't know if this fits what you have seen the rest of spring practice but I thought Cade was a heartbeat behind (slow) on alot of throws, he was not hitting guys out of their break but throwing to receivers who had settled. He did a great job while scrambling, he is really good when he's on the move and he's got some wheels... still lots of time before the season to improve.

Thank you David for the information. I look forward to the Duke game and being able to see what the offense is like in a live situation. I was pleased to see the utilization of the TE over the middle.

I am a defense person and “oh my”. The potential that Wes has is through the roof. I need to get me a PWOO shirt because that young man is special.

I have my tickets for the CSRA Prowl and Growl and am counting the days down until kickoff. Spot the ball and Go Tigers!

We should really have a talk with Spector about transferring, to get more pt at a lower level. He just doesn't have the talent for this level. Maybe stellato can go get a fresh start somewhere else too. Give us a couple more schollys
