Off Clemson topic but affects us...

But what are the pecking (No Pun Intended) orders for coaches...
Carowhina - Sure they are in the "almight SEC" but they are not the same as 'Bama or LSU or Florida. Has a history of being a graveyard for coaches.
Miami - History of having a powerhouse football program. But in the "bottom of the totem pole ACC"
So if you were a highly sought after coach which one would you pick to go after?

Those Chickens has deep pockets. They will lure a coach in by holding dollar bills in front of them, making them forget about the dumpster fire thats around them. lol... I feel both programs is going to have a tough time finding a diamond type coach.

Neither school can afford to pay top dollars for a new coach. It will be interesting to see who takes what. Personally I'd look at UCF above either school due to long term growth potential and solid recruiting in the region.
Go Tigers!

If somebody offered me 4 million with low expectations of performance, I wouldn't care if it was literally in a dumpster. I'd take it.

Very different jobs...hard to say which one is "better"

Because it'd be a subjective thing to the individual. To many coaches, I'm sure Miami would be a better fit. To others, South Carolina would be.
Neither are elite, destination jobs. Miami maybe used to be more so.

Miami is one of the best jobs in the country. Arguably a top 5 job. Definitely a top 10 job.

Alabama Oklahoma Texas USC Florida Ohio State Michigan LSU Notre Dame Florida State
Are all definitely above Miami. There's a whole bunch more right at Miami's level, like Oregon, Auburn, Clemson, and Texas A&M.

Have any of those programs had 5 national championships in 20 years?
It's amazing how many of you are discounting Miami.

Mine (in no particular order)

Clemson Florida State Louisville Virginia Tech Ohio State Michigan Michigan State Penn State Texas Oklahoma Oklahoma State Baylor TCU Cal Stanford Southern Cal UCLA Arizona Arizona State Utah Alabama Auburn LSU Texas A&M Florida Georgia Tennessee, and Notre Dame
All of these jobs (if available) would currently be considered better jobs than Miami

at least in terms of fan support, $CU surpasses the Hurricanes in this area and it's really not even close.

USCjr maybe. They supposedly have better facilities. Both would be tough though. Commentators on tv this past weekend were saying that Miami's facilities stink. Then you add the stadium in the middle of nowhere with no fans and it seems like a tough sell.

pool in south Florida is nuts. All you need to win a national champ is to recruit the "state of Miami." Given that Pitt, Duke, and UNC are contenders for the coastal, that division is a dumpster fire.
Any good coach could go in there with the existing talent and compete for a coastal division title next year.

I would say you have to pick the Coots. Miami attendance is a total embarrassment for a once proud program. Team was 4-2 before Saturday, in the hunt in their division, primed for a chance to knock off #6 in the country, and stadium only half full? Big disconnect somewhere.

standpoint, Miami is the better of the two. From a fan support standpoint, $CU is definitely the better of the two. You get the right guy down there and he starts winning (again), one will take care of the other but $CU never has and never will history or tradition.
