Is Dabo subtly positioning himself for

the head job at Alabama? Is it still his dream job? He has been on the Bama morning radio show 2X over the last month, he makes references like last night to Rece Davis that the only reason he came on the playoff rankings show was they were both from Alabama, and he has ramped up his stories about his playig days at Bama. Just something I noticed.

I am NOT COMPLAINING. I love what Dabo has and will do for Clemson. I am enjoying the present but I know it is fleeting and if Saban was to leave and Dabo has a NC or 2 under his belt then the odds may line up for him to take the Bama job if he wanted it.

Near future, no. Dabo ain't gonna be the guy that

succeeds Saban; only an idiot would want to follow that act. 10-15yrs down the road...maybe.

I thought that Dabo wanted a huge buyout.....

in his contract to show his commitment to CU and that he wanted to end his career here. I understand its Alabama, his alma mater, they have plenty of $$, etc., but he didn't have to do that.

I doubt anytime soon. Whomever follows Saban is nuts

There will be no way to make the fans happy short of back-to-back NCs and an ongoing run in the top 4.

Dabo has it great here. Maybe if Alabama takes a dip after Saban I can see Dabo going there later to save the day.

I just don't see him leaving by choice***

who wouldn't want to coach somewhere that if you go 6-6 you still make the playoffs

I have three separate bets with friends that if Dabo is

asked, he will turn down Alabama to stay at Clemson. I firmly believe he is Clemson for life. The idea that he would leave Clemson for Alabama after he "has a NC or 2 under his belt" is even more far-fetched to me.

I think an offer from Bama would be tempting and flattering to Dabo. I just don't see him leaving. he has proven it's not all about money. Were that the case, he wouldn't have given so much of his salary to his staff.

Clemson is a much better job. It is high pressure, but not like Bama. He can have a few bad seasons here and survive it. But I don't see any bad seasons in the near future.

like you suggest I'd thank him for his service and wish him well in his next gig at Alabama.

That is awesome to see especially from an SEC school that believes they are the crème de la crème. Go Dabo! Go Tigers! Beat the holes and keepproving to the world that Clemson is the real deal!

I cant remember Dabo doing anything stupid .,
The fool that follows Saban better be bullet proof and have a strong stomach .,

Dabo was interested in the Florida job...

Nov 4, 2015, 11:37 AM

...so I can't imagine he wouldn't be high on that opportunity should Saban leave/retire.

Everyone that I know from the state of Al pulls for Dabo.

Nov 4, 2015, 3:20 PM

Although some of them do not know much about them, they are all proud that he is from the state of Al and genuinely glad to see him do well. Some of them tell me that it's easier for them to pull for him since he's not in the sec and they don't have to play him regularly.
