Not trying to lay blame here, or to excuse Booth, but those hacks chose to ignore great games by ETN, Simmons, Potter and others to focus on the most negative angle possible.

Nobody supports the punch.
I have the ESPN app on my iPhone. It “dings” me with any news about Clemson sports. It dinged exactly 3 times today.
Ding 1- TL’s first interception
Ding 2- TL’s second interception
Ding 3- the Booth punch.
That’s all the news about Clemson worth alerting anyone, it seems.
Just because we are paranoid does not mean they aren’t out to get us.

Booth's hand probably got the brunt of it. If the Cardinal player had his helmet off and was being punched in the face it would be truly bad. Booth was stupid but hardly an act that hurt anyone.

I am going to let the coaches make that call. My initial reaction was the same as yours, and I agree that this is totally unacceptable, but let Dabo and the staff coach him up (or throw him out). They know the kid a lot better than you or me.

He’ll miss the next game by rule.
I’d bet he’ll miss more than just the next game. Because of Dabo.
That is proper punishment for his actions.

Wow! That is a bit harsh. If we kicked everyone of the team for marking a stupid 18 year old mistake there would be no one left.

At this point, it's zero. I WILL care about our ranking after playing USC and hopefully after the ACCCG. As for ESPN, not sure I care what they think whenever.

Grandson was playing in 11 year old AAU State Championship a few years ago. A player on his team was running the ball and got slung backward by his face mask. No flag but his teammate started swinging on the guy like that and the referee disqualified the whole team and it was game over. Referees don't play when it comes to that.
