There was a ton of material there. I almost expected someone to help Joe turn the pages of his briefing book or pour him a glass of water.I've never seen a more polite press corps--ever.Biden was on a low RPM speech pattern and still got lost. It will probably take Joe rogering Major the dog on the WH lawn to get the press to do their job? Multiple falsehoods and exaggerations were issued from the Prez.
There may be hope though. The NYT did a fact check after the presser. It would sure be nice to have done it in real time.Had Joe been aggressively challenged his circuits probably would have shorted out.
Who is the last fiscal conservative the GOP put in office? GHWB? Reagan?
At least 85% of the U.S population is more competent than Biden! I’m okay with you admitting your regrets in voting for this guy. No one will hold it against you.
I think most of the nation is thrilled in comparison. I would vote for a ham sandwich before i would vote Trump. Biden's approval rating is at 53%. It was 60%. People are bothered by the border supposedly. Trump left with a 38% approval rating and inspired an insurrection on the Capitol. Trump is only missed by his cult.
I didn't like Trump's lies and exaggerations nor the failure of either party to address spending. It was important before to me and it is important now. The difference is the press was very aggressive with Trump and other presidents, especially if they were Republicans. Usually at a presser, the press interrupts the President to challenge answers and cut off the talking point presentation. This did NOT happen yesterday.

Trump didn't really talk to the press much and when he did he would try to call on OANN and Fox so he babied or praised. When he did call on the left he attacked right a way with fake new comments. He couldn't handle a simple follow up question. He didn't understand the issues and when asked in a follow up about an issue again it angered him.
He did a better job than expected. It was good overall for him. There is no reason for a skit. The bar is set really low thanks to Fox. All he has to do is do a mediocre press conference and all is good. The liberals on CNN, MSNBC, etc etc, were happy with it. I don't think the skit would work on SNL. Maybe Fox or OANN should do a skit for their target audience.

The bar was very low. I've watched press conferences since LBJ. I've never seen one like yesterday. Let's say Bush or Trump brought notes and a briefing book to the podium and read from both along with forgetting their train of thought at least twice. You seriously don't think not only SNL but also the media wouldn't be all over this?
The notes and briefing were fine. If Trump would have brought some notes it would have been refreshing. I don't think anyone would have thought anything but positive. At least maybe he would have had his facts right for once, I think the briefing and notes are great. That was a good call on his part. It's a non story. We already know he is getting old and forgets things. That's why Jim Carey played him as really old. He should always bring some notes out for the next almost 4 years.
Yeah I watched the entire thing. He had his Biden moments, but overall it was good for him. It was a solid job. There is a low bar for him. That's the opinion of everyone on the left though. I am sure on Fox it was not. They were caught up in a 3 ring binder, Anyway, that went about as well as when everyone thought Trump would take out Biden in that first debate and Trump melted down. Biden did fine in that. This was similar. Fox was hoping for a meltdown and set the bar low, and he did fairly well overall aside from a few minor gaffes. There will always be a Biden gaffe. It's been happening for many years. Overall he did decent. The substance was decent as well, aside from the border talk, as far as I am concerned.
