O-line Play

Apr 9, 2022, 1:38 PM

Our o-line is going to be terrible. We have no real blocking for the QB and on the edge. Cannot win with that. I have seen nothing in the game so far telling me our O is different than last year.

We are just not deep enough to spread them out. The Orange team only has one starter in Putnam. I would calm down on the Oline criticism

Yea a lot of it is due to depth and injuries but it makes me nervous still considering that was a weakness last year. Way too many Sweeney's and Herbstreits trying to block on the edge too. Not good.

I agree there but I would rather get guys healthy for the actual games than the Spring game. 3 starting OL are not playing today. Ej Williams, Beau, Randall, and one more big WR aren’t playing. Just not fair to criticize this game today. The Dline is very deep this year, hence the domination

Actually, no Sweeney’s Played today.***

The O line is split and thin to start with. The D line is so deep both orange and white d lines could start at most places. Just not a fair matchup at this point. Neither offense is really going to get good work as long as the DLine starters are in.

Agreed. Big mismatch but in theory it shouldnt be.

In theory no one should score on our defense and we should have 7-10 sacks every game.

LOL, just imagine if Bryan Bresee was playing

Apr 9, 2022, 1:59 PM

Seriously, I'm not saying the O-line will be as bad as last year, but you gotta admit there are serious problems to work out.

None of your concern should come from this game, unless you are just assuming we will start the year with 3 starting OL not playing

Our starting line will be improved and more physical than last year over I think Pennington might be a starter in the interior along with Tate at the other guard. Both Pennington and Tate are 330lbs.

LT McFadden
LG Tate
C Putnam
RG Pennington
RT Parks
I feel good about this starting 5 and think it's a huge upgrade over where we were going into the Georgia game last year.

I think we will see a lot of John Williams at RG. He has a concussion so he missed today. Missed last year with a knee injury.
