They got more rhythm than we do. Obviously you haven’t watched us dance in the locker room this year. ??

They hide their weaknesses and play with heart. We don't play to our personnel and other than pace no one else shows ant competitiveness.

We also have a starting QB that has only thrown for ONE touchdown outside the first 2 scripted drives all year if you just throw out the SC State game. That is absolutely terrible.

1. The main reason is we have a QB who is a pure pocket passer. He is finally learning to run but is not natural at it and it looks like he doesn't like to run it. Our offense for years, close to a decade has been designed around a duel threat QB. Making our slightly above average O-line look better than they were.
2. QB isn't accurate and is limited on his knowledge of the playbook. Therefore having to stick to basic play calling. Also his decision making on the read option is below average. He hands it off 75% of the time even even though keeping it would have been the better option. QB locks in on one receiver. If that receiver is not open he panics and takes a sack because he waits and holds onto the ball too long waiting for that one receiver to get open. By the time he decides to make another decision it's too late. The pocket has collapsed.
3. Our starting receivers are not quick twitch speed burners like other teams have. We have 50/50 jump ball type receivers. That used to work for our receivers 75% of the time. But not anymore. Our QB won't throw the ball to a receiver who is in a one on one matchup. And when he does either the receiver has no separation at all or DJ can't throw it in the right spot with the right touch. Usually when our receiver is 6', 4" against a 5', 10 CB we win that battle. But not with DJ at QB. But I do agree with Dabo. "We've got what we got". Taison P is either worse at running the offense or he is not 100% healed from his injury Probably both. Even with all these years of tall lanky jump ball type receivers we always had one receiver in the slot that was a get open quick guy with good hands. Third and Renfrow, Amari, Artavius Scott, Ray Ray McCloud, etc.... Along with a tight end that never dropped a pass. We don't have either this year.
4. When coaches make the wrong decision on recruiting a QB it's a much worse mistake than making a bad decision on a recruit at say Linebacker. It comes back to haunt you time and time again. If we had the New England Patriot O-line DJ might be great. Or even the Alabama or GA O-line.
This is my 2 cents.

I grant you he isn’t accurate, but, how do you know he has a limited knowledge of the playbook? Inside in formarmation?

The only other option is that our Offensive Coordinator has forgotten how to call plays. I don't think that is the case. He won two National Championships. I know, I know. Everyone will say it was Jeff Scott that really was the brains of the offense. We are limited at QB and receiver. The receivers don't seem to be playing their best for DJ. Maybe it's because he's so inaccurate that they're tired of running routes to only have the ball thrown at their feet or 5 feet over their head. Or to be wide open and watch DJ take a sack because he's only looking at one receiver.
And BTW accuracy is a big one. and so is not being a runner. That's 5 passes a game less that he is not completing if you have 33 pass attempts per game in comparison to Lawrence or Watson. How many of those 5 pass completions would be for TD's? Or completions that would have kept the offense on the field for another series to give the defense a rest. Or would have gotten us in FG goal range.
It makes a difference. How many times could DJ have ran the ball this year a picked up 5 yards or a first down? Instead of taking a sack or throwing the ball away? Or handing it off on the rad option only for the RB to get stopped after no gain or a yard gain. We have had so many second down and 8 or 9 yards to go it's been hard to watch.

We’re playing a QB that isn’t ready, and no one on the team likes him. The offense doesn’t care right now. Putting TP in for one series will make it obvious. GO TIGERS!!!!

They don’t have Tony Elliott calling plays for them.
