Nuk doing the right thing....

Jan 11, 2013, 7:18 AM

Now's the time for him, he's ready. Hate to lose him, but I do believe it's the best decision for him. Just hate he didn't get enough national recgonition, but unless you're in the SEC ESPN isn't going to give you any pub.

He's getting bad advice...leave early for the second round?

Jan 11, 2013, 7:28 AM

Please...he should stay and raise his national stature next year. That said, I wish him the best.

I just don't see how he can have a better year. He was sensational this season.

I agree. I don't think coming back helps him with NFL.

Best of luck Nuke.

He wouldn't need a better season....just something nearly as

Jan 11, 2013, 8:07 AM [ in reply to Re: He's getting bad advice...leave early for the second round? ]

good. That would show sustained performance and achievement. As it is, the folks I'm talking to say his draft projections are inflated. He's likely to go late second round to mid third round. Hence, I say he's getting bad advice.

Which NFL scouts are you talking to? And why would it

constitute bad advice for a WR to enter the draft if he's going to get selected in the 2nd round? He has a chance to work really hard between now and the combine, go in there and bust his butt and elevate his position.

This is the right decision for Nuk. He's coming off a huge year, he was one of, if not the, best WR's in college. His CFA bowl performance was huge. If he comes back and his numbers go down he can hurt his draft status. If he comes back and gets hurt, he can also hurt his draft status.

It just makes sense, especially if he's being projected in the 2nd to mid third round, because he can elevate that status during workouts and the combine.

I doubt he has a better year next year than this year.

And Watkins likely comes out next year too if he gets more touches, so they'd be competing.

Right decision. It's not rocket science.

don't think he improves his draft status much if he comes

Jan 11, 2013, 8:27 AM [ in reply to He's getting bad advice...leave early for the second round? ]

back for another year. If he came back it would be purely based on wanting to just play in college another year. If I was him and they promised me a spot in the top 3 rounds i'd be out too. Thats some pretty good money, a far cry from what he would make at the Central YMCA as a rec league organizer.

He made the right decision.

Agreed. Even if he went back to back in his performance (and in reality, he already has), his talents would not improve a great deal. Hands, toughness already top notch.

Happy for him, very glad he was a Tiger... and a great one at that.

Best of luck in the NFL!!

Nuk gave Clemson 3 solid years as not only a member of this team but a humble team player the whole time. I believe for him it is the right time to leave. After the season he had I don't think he could repeat it. Sammy will be back and we are deep at wide receiver. Our offense is designed to spread the ball around more and not have to pass 12 balls to one WR in a game. Also people say he is only a second round pick but I believe that once he has a great showing at the combine he can break into the first round. It is a mostly defensive first round but some teams need weapons on offense and he should as it gets closer creep into the top 3 WR category
