Now that buying players etc is above board

Who does CUAD start courting as potential sugar daddies? Is it logical to assume that athletic departments like ours who are not in big media markets and do not have billionaire alumni will have to think about prostituting themselves to develop booster bases and survive in the new NIL world? Will we be playing on Frank Howard Field in Naturally Fresh Stadium by 2025?

Now that buying players etc is above board, when do some Clemson fans gets motivated and go out and make a billion dollars so they can take care of the program.
Personally I am sitting here right now trying to find a way to make a billion dollars, but nothing has popped into my head yet.
I'll update you once I get an idea and get the legal process completed to keep you from stealing said idea.

the university can't be involved with it

it's going to take those boosters on their own to create what others are doing. I haven't looked at what the state law/conf rules are but based on what Clemson posted re NIL rules for Clemson, I'm guessing some of the stuff re: BYU, Miami and Texas would not be allowed here. Obviously everyone has to adhere to their own state laws/conf rules but those are widely different. The NCAA said as much that the schools/booster have to adhere to those in place - there is no standard which is why a federal statute is likely needed as some some usurped the NCAA. I did see where the NCAA was already looking into the BYU and Miami deals to see if they are permittable. I imagine the TX deal will get the same scrutiny but not sure what they could actually do about it- imagine it's probably more of info gathering to help in getting some consistent rules in place

I didn't mean the university would broker NIL deals

What I mean is that the university can build relationships that may eventually spin off NIL deals. If we sign sponsorship deals with BMW, Michelin, whomever, those are contracts between the company and the school, but don't you think that once those are in place, those sponsors are more likely to target our players with NIL deals? Maybe not. Just thought it was something interesting to discuss.
I tend to think that there is going to have to be a place for the athletic departments themselves to get a piece of the pie. Someone will figure it out.

The whole situation would seem to ACCELERATE the DEMISE...

...of the NCAA as any sort of governing body over college football.
The state-by-state NIL administration that allows for inequitable compensation rules will lead to lawsuits being filed to allow for a complete and full exercise of the original California verdict on NIL.
Schools will then see the NCAA as nothing more than INTERFERING into finances that they have no business in. Which will then RE-IGNITE the push to simply ABANDON ANY NCAA governance over college football.
The power schools will then form their own alliance, allowing in the other schools that will have no chance of breaking even and competing with the big bucks, to provide "SCRIMMAGE" or "PRACTICE" squads for the 8-10 big bucks schools that will be able to pay their players $50K-$75K per season. These "PRACTICE" squad schools will have no choice but to populate their rosters with 2* & 3* players at best.
I suspect that in the NEW NON-NCAA-ALLIANCE, there will need to be some REVENUE SHARING with the "Practice Squad" schools just so that they can stay afloat and travel to games.
At the rate at which this has already progressed, it would seem hard to imagine that the situation outlined above would take more than 3-4 years to materialize.

The NCAA has always looked the other way and never wanted to know what was going on unless you brought all the evidence to them. Then they had to respond.

If I ever have a liquid Billion sitting around, I promise to buy us a couple 5 stars. But keep in mind, if they get on field and suck it up, I am firing them.
