Not sure about PWoo playing DE at 319 lbs

Now he'll be a monster against the run, but will he have the stamina and be able to maintain his quickness at that weight to pass rush? I was hoping for him to come in around the 290s. However, if he's playing near 320, we'll probably be doing a lot of 3 man fronts this year with 3 LBs. I think we'll be seeing Sammy Brown screaming off the edge in blitz packages a ton this year.

He is quite the athlete. He would not be put there if he wasn't capable.

His first three steps were unprecedented at the time for a big man. I played many downs against him in high school practice.

My junior year in HS, I went to Clemson to visit some friends a couple of years older than me. We were playing basketball in Fike when William strolled in. He was off shooting by himself with the whole gym watching him. He had to be 360+. Casually dribbling around, he jumped up and dunked the ball, with what seemed to be very little effort.
No, the gym didn't rattle when he landed, but we just stopped what we were doing.

I played b-ball with the Fridge many times at Fike. I’ve seen him dunk the way you described and catch the ball on the way down, jump straight up and do it again, repeatedly 5-6 times. No running start, just straight up off both feet repeatedly. Dude was an athlete, not just a big man. His smile was just as big.

I may be in the minority, but i kind of like it, especially against the better teams, they won't be used to it.

I think Lawson proves a lot of people wrong including myself, and PWoo doesn’t play a lot of DE because of it.

I actually think Hoffler becomes the main DE opposite Parker with Denhoff and Lawson as second string with PWoods moving all over the place.
It would be a big surprise if Lawson became a starting DE this season or next.

CW42 says hello. Can't remember his weight but he played DE at 300 plus and pretty #### well. Woods will be a handful no matter where he is on that defensive front.

Yeah but when he moved back inside in 2018 beside Big Dex magic happened. I think that same magic happens with Capehart and Woods, but only if Lawson or Hoffler steps in and balls like TJ did last season.
If we get solid play from those two and have the big boys in the middle, TJ will have a monster season like Clelin Ferrell did.

The link below says all you need to know about P Wood's ability. Our world has had many people that has done unimaginable things that certain humans shouldn't be able to do, and P Woods is one of those people in spite his size...

I think this is good news for the defense. Coaches aren't blindsided by these weights. It isn't like he showed up 30 lbs heavier than they expected. That is the weight/body composition they want him to be at. In my opinion, 319 is too big to be an every down DE like Wilkins was a sophomore (Wilkins was also like 300 lbs then and taller.) I definitely think Woods can still play on the edge in some 3 man fronts and occasionally in a 4 man front, but the coaches know what they're doing when it comes to managing these guys weights and nutrition. I think Woods is going to stay primarily on the inside. But that means the Defensive coaches must have seen something they liked out of the DEs outside of Parker, so maybe we will see Lawson, Hoffler, Story, or some others emerge and be good pieces for us.

When you’re an elite athlete and can move like he does you play any position you want. See William Perry (Germans), Michael Dean Perry, Gaines Adams, and a handful of others. This kid is a unicorn for a reason.
