Doesn't come as much of a surprise.
We were never solidly in the field of 64 to begin with.

I would hate to see Clemson left out, but then again,

May 26, 2014, 5:33 AM

a lot of teams will be left out with fans across the nation crying, "Foul."

The alternative, which is understatement, is to win more. The important task for the Clemson administration is to determine the prospects for future success under our current leadership.

I can't truthfully respond. Hopefully, our administration can.

While I too can't truthfully respond,I can give you "my" honest assessment of the future success of our baseball program.(Remember this is my honest assessment).
Clemson's new president,James P.Clements, and the Board of Trustees will defer to Dan Radokovich, the new Athletic Director who then will determine the future sucess of the baseball program.
IMO,Dan will not fire Jack Leggett,(I don't think he has the guts to do so)and Jack Leggett won't retire till he is good and ready,so,again imo,the success of the baseball program will remain in limbo until either he (double hockey sticks) freezes over or Jack leaves on his own terms.

You seem to have it all figured out but don't call RAD gutless.
He warmed up with Hannity and Merritt and he has the power
to basically do what the hell he wants to do.

if it was only that simple all teams would be awesome

If so, we can take a long look at the bats ...

May 26, 2014, 6:21 AM

That absolutely failed us time and time again this year.

Or the occasional pitching meltdown, especially early in the year.

Or the crippling infield play that haunted us in a few games.

Or the number of times we had what might have been promising rallies cut down by base running errors.

If we get in, there's a chance to forget it all and begin anew behind some of the best starting pitching in the country. If not, there are plenty of reasons to see why.

Y'all know me well enough to know I'm pulling hard for second chances. But I'll understand if they don't arrive at noon.

Seems legit ... cause the lying, cheating Tarholes

May 26, 2014, 8:04 AM

are in the tournament ... NCAA mandates the Tarholes get it if they are borderline.

Glad we got in. Let's see if we can hit? Pitching was great in Greensboro.

Re: Not looking good

There are no excuses...we lost when we should have won, we had a sad season with so many talented players...very hard to understand why.....This is the first time in how long that we will not at least make the regionals??? We lost to Ga Tech which was inexcusable....lack of strong pitching...one or two pitchers can not make a winning season....we need 5-6 strong pitchers and 3-4 great closures. The hitting has been awful. Cant blame it on the bats all the other teams use the same kind. Cut, dice it, slice anyway you want, blame it on everything else but where the blame really belongs.....Time for the Board of Trustees to take charge!
