He told me he felt like it was time for a change.
"Honestly, I just felt like I needed a change. I talked with my folks and prayed about this," Mellusi said. "I'd love to make an impact and be a workhorse at whatever program I land at. I loved my time here at Clemson and competed with the best of the best and I know it'll prepare for my next chapter in life."

I don't blame him a bit. He will be able to contribute to another quality program, where his playing time was going to be limited here regardless. Best of luck to Chez wherever he ends up ...... fine youn man!

some marginally talented guy. He has the tools to be a star running back. The fact that he needs to transfer to see that happen speaks VERY highly of the other talent in our running back room.

Chez to me was a solid bridge between now and the future Clemson running backs on the team.
Now there is a bit of a gap...because there are some young ones there. Unless they are ETN-esque it will worry me when attrition kicks in. Pace and Dukes are now that bridge with Shipley and Marsh our future.
I can see Chez balling his a## off at South Florida...UCF...Oklahoma State...or possibly Miami.

Next year Lyn J and Pace will get most of the carries. The freshmen will get a few reps in blowouts. Then there will be Rencher and Dukes bringing up the rear, with Rencher getting his token carries as the “team leader “.
I would expect Dukes to transfer next.

Dabo loved Chez because of his toughness, I know he wasn’t happy with this decision. He’s a great kid & I wish him the best but wish he would have stuck it out for the long haul. He has the talent to win the starting position at any team including Clemson. I understand odds but he was capable of becoming our starter if he continued to work on his receiving out of the backfield.

Mellusi could have some quality options for academics and football including: NOTRE DAME, UVA, GA TECH, UNC, MIA, MICH, LSU, OLE MISS, TX A&M, and PITT. Good luck to him!
