Jimbo to Texas.

Dec 17, 2013, 9:24 PM

He will be the choice of the longhorns. Has everything they are looking for. If you can't have Saban he's the one they will take.

We would love that, but I don't think he would go.

Have heard a couple of our local radio guys say that they've heard some scuttlebutt that he's not 100% happy at FSU. Personally I don't get that one.

Re: Jimbo to Texas.

Dec 18, 2013, 9:05 AM

, I don't know why coaches like Saban or Fisher or Meyer, etc would make the move to Texas. Yes, the money will be greater, but so will the headaches. I would understand almost any coach in the country leaving for the Texas job, but there are a few select schools which I consider the absolute cream of the crop:

Alabama, Texas, Florida State, Southern California, Ohio State, Florida

Those are in no particular order, but I feel like any move between those schools is a lateral one. The only reason to leave one of those schools for a new gig is because you're going to the NFL. Those schools have the name, money, and recruiting power to do whatever a coach wants to do.

After several disappointing seasons, I think Fisher finally has the FSU program where he wants it to be. I really can't imagine him wanting to leave that now. However, the hospitals in the Austin area specializing in his son's illness could be very important to him.

Re: Jimbo to Texas.

I agree he seems to be the most logical choice at this point but he just got the staff he wants, the players he wants and everything at FSU. They seem set to make a real run there... so I dont know.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Fisher isn't as dumb as he plays on to be....

Dec 18, 2013, 9:39 AM

Think about it.... Why would he leave ?

If they win the NC (which I think they will) then where is there to go ? A Saban repeat? (not likely)

Will his iron be any hotter after winning the NC ? (not likely)

Every day Texas doesn't announce something...the percentage rises he gets it after the NC game.
