This playoff system truly sucks

Oct 5, 2014, 10:09 AM

I honestly believe we r the best team in the land. With two loses, it will be hard to get in. We need to win out and hope most will have two loses ahead of us where we get lucky (most likely not going to happen but wishing a way for us to get in). If clemson wins out and looks as impressive as we did yesterday and I am on the committee, I ll chose clemson.

???? Do you think we would have had a better chance under the old system?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No we need a better system .. Maybe top 8 or 16***

We looked like the best team yesterday, but only then.***

The secondary, special teams and the OL will continue to be problematic.

It sucks because unlike other playoff systems

Oct 5, 2014, 10:13 AM

there's no clear path to get in.

For the other playoff systems, that don't have a clear path, so many people get in, it's hard to complain if you don't (NCAA Baseball/Basketball).

This one is the worst of both, limited amount of teams get in, and there is no defined qualification.

This is a perfect reason 8 should get in. P5 Conference champs, 3 at large. Done.

I have said and believe
We will be the best team in the land but not make the playoff.
That's what happens when you chit the bed vs FSU.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not a huge fan of the 4-team playoff we have, but

Oct 5, 2014, 10:54 AM

you are correct. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

Nobody with 2 losses should b in the playoffs.

We can build for next year and be a preseason top 10 team.

I honestly feel and/or think we are not the best team. I think and/or feel that Auburn is currently the best team and at the end if the regular season it will be FSU.

I expect both to be in the final four.

We should be clicking on all cylinders by seasons end. Auburns D is nowhere near as good as ours.

Well..with 2 losses we wouldn't be a factor even without the playoff.

I think it's a good system and fits college football well. It still puts a big emphasis on the regular season. Want to win a national title? Win your games. No room for early season slip ups or late season trip ups and still make the playoff.

I think college football can keep their playoff system unique and not flood it with teams like most other sports. It keeps the regular season as the most important regular season in sports.

If they do expand I think they should do one of the following:

A) Go to 6 teams, give top 2 seeds a bye.
B) Go to 8 teams, top 4 teams get to host 1st round games.

Anything beyond this would severely water down the regular season. Think about how huge yesterday was. If the playoffs were expanded basically nothing that happened yesterday really would've mattered.

Switch the two FCS games as august

Oct 5, 2014, 10:36 AM

Non conference games.

Take the top 16 and select a champion.
U can have another group of 16 (17-32) to select the best team in that group (like NIT in basketball). Also u can have another 16 (33-48) to select number 33 and so on ..

we have little chance to make the playoff, but

Oct 5, 2014, 10:32 AM

what we do have a chance to do is be the team at the end of the season that the media people are saying:

"Clemson is the hottest team in the country, and the team NOBODY wants to play in a bowl. And if the playoff chose the four BEST teams, Clemson would be in. "

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The whole season is a playoff. We lost in the first round

Oct 5, 2014, 10:42 AM

That ok, let's make the best of it and win out

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hèll at this rate there could be only one

Oct 5, 2014, 10:59 AM

One loss team and a few two lost teams, so let's let the season play out. If we don't make it oh well we blew our chance early in the season and we'll have to settle for a New Year's Eve bowl

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.
