Does anyone else think the game would have gone differently

if Saban hadn't elected to play defense first? Everything seemed to go downhill from that point.

Not really. I think the downhill turn of the game began with the 3rd down drop by Cain. Needed that momentum.

Bama was the better team last night. I think the only thing that could have changed that outcome was DW4 staying his senior year Imo, this 2017 team maximized it's ceiling, and that is nothing to sneeze at
The 2018 has a national championship ceiling, if, there is a legit open-ended competition at qb the next 8 months

Wow, so you're blaming DW4 for our loss last night?

He gave us 3 great years and it was time for him to go out and get paid more than what he was getting paid by Newspring at Clemson. I don't blame him one bit for leaving and I think you're just being selfish

No I'm not being selfish, hard to interpret posts sometimes. I agree 100% with you on DW4 and feel 100% the same way about Christian. No question they both gave it all and should have left for the NFL
I was just making the point that only DW4's greatness could have overcome that level of dominance last night

Man seriously, why do you bring up that Newspring narrative? Why keep a lie going that is straight from FGF? Just makes no sense to bring up crap like that.

He deferred, he didnt elect to play D...

It was our pick the first half and we chose O instead of D. I dont mind getting the ball first in years past, but I think we all knew it was gonna be a field position battle and I wouldve been fine with Bama getting the ball to start both halves. Once we went three and out we never got out of the field position hole.

That's what they did to start the 2nd half, and as usual

our coaches weren't ready for it. We went out and ran some crappy plays, settled for a FG and never got that momentum back. Bold move by Saban and it paid off. He was playing chess while Dabo was playing not chess.

doing his best bentley imitation for pick 6. i'm certain he was thinking it wood make the comeback that much sweeter - cannot fault him for that. if you're gonna dream, dream big - that's my motto

No, the turnover in the 3rd quarter with the score 10 to 6

With Clemson driving killed us, then the pick 6 sealed the game. We could have still won until that turnover.

No. It turned when we had the gift turnover to start 2nd half and lose yards getting only 3pts. Stick it in the EZ and it's a tie game and momentum turn.
You can't create momentum when your Oline is getting abused.
