Why is there even still a Coach’s Poll?

My understanding is that since the CFP, the AP and coaches poll have absolutely no real value. Why do they keep taking these polls and publicizing it? All the hoopla seems much to do about nothing.

Just look at how Ryan Day voted this year compared to Dabo’s votes.

Couldn’t find Day’s vote could you? Apparently he caught so much heat for his last 2019 vote where he put six (6!!) B1G teams in the top 25 with, you guessed it, tOSU at #1 over LSU, Clemson and Bama. He opted out of voting in 2020.

Apparently he follows the old adage “if you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen!”
