I saw that too about LSU but they are ranked #11 in the Sagarin numbers. Not sure if this site uses those numbers as well. It might explain it

in the game was ONLY

because we got shorter fields to work with on our TD drives in the 2nd quarter.

Both L'Ville and Clemson had 8 of 16 drives

that either went 60+ yards or ended in a score.

There's also the point that L'Ville's drives more often ended in FG's (3 of 7 scoring drives)

than Clemson's drives, which ended in TD's 6 of 6 times.

If only we had known that the object was to have more yardage, maybe we wouldn't have been as concerned about having more points on the scoreboard.
I'm sure that if Louisville had the choice of winning that game or being ranked higher in some arbitrary power ranking, they would have chosen to win the game.
