Death Valley upgrades

Got the email from IPTAY about upgrades to Death Valley. Previously, the plan was to also include new lights but I don't see that mentioned. It mentions new video board and sound system, but lights is no longer listed. Does anyone know if that's still part of the plans?

Greetings, Tigers,
On behalf of our coaches, staff, and nearly 500 student-athletes, thank you for your support of IPTAY! Please know your commitment allows Clemson student-athletes to compete at an elite level vying for conference and national titles, while attending a nationally prominent University.
The Clemson University Athletic Department and IPTAY are excited to reintroduce several planned enhancements to Memorial Stadium, which initially received approval in Oct. 2019. After putting the projects on hold due to the pandemic, Clemson is preparing to seek approval this summer on a revised timeline and scope, with sights on beginning after the 2021 season.
These initiatives have been carefully designed to improve campus connectivity, enhance the fan experience, and add a new premium seating opportunity. The club addition will be the first significant update to Memorial Stadium lower deck seating since the addition of the WestZone in 2006. The current videoboard and sound system were introduced in 2010.
Pending approval, the first series of upgrades with a proposed 2022 season implementation include a new videoboard and sound system and the development of a Concourse Club in the WestZone. In future years, Clemson will also look to expand the team gameday locker room and reconfigure Lot 5.

Projects proposed to be completed ahead of the 2022 football season include:
WestZone Concourse Club – Pending Final Approval
The Clemson football gameday experience is about friends, family and sharing the excitement of the nation’s premiere college football program. The proposed all-new WestZone Concourse Club will allow fans to experience the passion, pageantry and tradition of fall Saturdays in Memorial Stadium with the comforts of home.
This premium space will be located on the concourse level and will create 675 new outdoor seats that will include an accompanying indoor space much like the current Younts South Club. The accompanying indoor club space will include private restrooms, food and beverage options, and flatscreen televisions all housed in a comfortable climate-controlled environment. Video Board & Sound
The current main video board in the east is 65 feet wide by 25 feet tall (1,625 sq. ft.). A new board is proposed at 126 feet wide by 57 feet tall (7,166 sq. ft.), or nearly five times the surface area. Included would be a new speaker array sound system.
East Entry at Howard’s Rock
The bottom of the new video board will be approximately 20 feet above ground, opening a 365-day view connecting the stadium and Scroll of Honor Memorial. It will be the first adjustment to the east entry to campus since a video board was added in 2005. The current video board was put in place in 2010.

The focus this year seems to be kicking people out of their seats so they can charge others more money for premium seating with a direct view of a large tv. Maybe the new large screen also serves as ‘new lights’

welcome to the top of college football, this is what it takes to keep up with the all the other top tier stadiums. UGA did it two years ago, Bama did it before that. Also, you'll want to use your phone in the stadium and this will address that as well.
and btw, if you can afford any ticket to a game, you're the rich people everyone is fussing about.

I’m not sure what you mean by crying. Up until last year we were long-time Heisman donors with 14 season tickets in the south lower sections E and F. Yes, we are rich ourselves. I’m not whining about rich people.
By keeping up with the Jones’s as you describe we will have less of the crowd noise our stadium is famous for.

last time I visited there prior to the pandemic, I spoke to the front desk staff who said that they were gonna add on to the entrance & add a public display for all the football hardware (would make the current lobby & beyond closed to public after that, but would place everything to fill the current open air area going into the entrance of the facility). all that was included in the DV improvements from what the gentleman told me.

Plans got revised when the pandemic put everything on hold. I think they are prioritizing the DV upgrades in the west end and video board/sound systems. The revised seats on the east side and the football complex are apparently the lowest priority.
