With making Floyd a hero. The guy was laced up on Fentanyl. The cop was as dirty as dirty, but we are making a dope head into a hero. It’s somewhat sickening to me and the message it sends to the younger African American Community. Did he deserve to die, absolutely not. Did his life choices head him the direction of the cop, yes.
Again don’t call me an cop apologist or whatever. I just think having a Super Bowl parade, murals and White House visit for Floyd sends a really bad message to the drug ravaged communities.

I get your point and I don't think he should be regarded as a hero. But he's not the first for America, and we've elevated many white folks who were dopeheads to hero status... whatever "hero" may mean, I guess.

Liberals are really bad with optics cause optics never fit a narrative. The narrative is all cops are bad and need new training and less lethal force…..ok, so so they parade around a family of a fentanyl laced drug addict (family, so Prod is happy) to prove their point. It’s absolutely absurd.
The optics are that taking drugs and fighting/resisting a cop are ok. You can get a second chance or fourth or fifth if you are laced on Fentanyl and resist arrest.
It’s the optics. Obama was the worst at optics. Liberals are terrible with optics because all they do is lead with emotion and pleasing the crowd.

We can argue strength of the substance all we want, but given enough of it, that's irrelevant. Would you be saying the same thing if Floyd were drunk?
You've admitted on here to being drunk and breaking the law. So have I. The substance issue is irrelevant in this case and didn't contribute to the incident.

My point is that any substance that can impair your judgment and actions is dangerous given the right amount. One is not more serious than the other.

Not condoning the officers actions, but Floyd was a complete fukktard, and the police were excessively patient with him.

We expect police to be a level above the suspects. Several levels, actually. I don't agree with making Floyd a hero figure, but nothing he did before--nothing--justifies what happened with the officer afterwards.
We have millions of officers around the nation who face similar situations every day and they bring the suspect in alive.

Your beef is with the "optics" and I get it, and I'm glad you recognize the wrongdoing of the officer. But that's the point. That's the only point. Eliminate these repeated wrong actions by the officers and there won't be any grandstanding like this at the White House.

is that they are not so much propping him up as a hero, honoring anything he did, as so much as using him as a face of what can happen. I haven’t really heard anyone heroically describing his as a person so much as remembering him as an example of what can happen. It is a lot though, and gets tons of coverage, so I can understand being exhausted from the messaging.

More whites are killed by police than blacks. A policeman walked scott-free after executing an unarmed white man on his knees. A police gang invaded a marine's home and shot him dead in the middle of the night. The media never talks about those though.
