and play tight D. I think that's how we beat Wake. The logic that we have to be balanced needs to go out the window because half of that equation is compromised big time. Our RBs are good, and our line has moments where they can run block. In order to do this, we HAVE to be more creative in the run game with jet sweeps, counters, reverses, etc mixed in.
Throw only bombs and passes to tight ends on close in curl routes.
Won't be as fun to watch, but winning ugly is better than any loss. Go Tigers!

Agree with running some sweep plays. Every running play is the same. Very little creativity.

UCONN basically put 8 men in the box and dared us to throw the ball. Nobody can run when the defense is selling out to run.
And really a great strategy against Clemson this year. We can't compete the forward pass with any level of consistency. Half the time, DJU misfires. And when he is on target, half of those passes are dropped. Until we can get the passing game to work, teams are going to load up the box with bodies to stop the run.

team up until the late 80s loaded the box, and somehow folks still had 300 yards+ rushing. 3 to 4 yards is not bad as long as you stick with it...

something other than those run-it-up-the-middle calls or those confounded laterals.

If we use as many wide receiver screens against Wake like we did yesterday, the defense will be on the field a long time. We won't have many first downs. Just don't understand the continued use of this play when it has not worked all year.

Bingo , it will turn into a bunch of 3 and outs . If we play like we did vs UCONN, WF will pull away and win by 3 TDs

teams still get the first down. You cannot get the first down when your right guard gets knocked a yard back in the backfield. Or, when no one on the Oline gets ANY push....

And when we get stuffed on third and short, then panic, throw that bomb only to have it called back because of holding, which of course every knows only Clemson ever gets caught doing .Also ,we should be more creative, what with our "Brilliant " O.C.( Dabo's words), on those Rob Spence bubble screens by using our tight end to block instead of running a curl route.
