If Clemson is selected to the NCAA Tournament

It will be as a 15 or 16 seed. This automatically gets us the top seed in their bracket. They will be playing a 1 or 2 seed and then go home. Is this the accomplishment that Neff is looking for in basketball.
The other option is a top 4 seed in the NIT.

No, Clemson would be an 11 seed in the play in game.

Possibly a 12 seed. But small schools are 13-16.

The last 4 in are the 11 seed play in game.

Tell me you don’t watch the NCAA basketball tourney without telling me. They don’t seed at large teams in the 15 / 16 lines. The last at larges are projecting as 11 seeds

It doesn't really matter. Clemson basketball is usually president of the One and Done club.
