I may be the last Brownell supporter here

Until now. VT is not even a good ACC team. I have no more excuses for this underperforming team.

There are no excuses left.***

I thought you were going to restrain yourself from b!tching and let the season pan out? As we have talked about, make the tourney and keep your job. Don't make it, then bye-bye for Mr. Brownell. Smart fans know the deal and mature fans know better than constantly complaining. Either way, publically b!tching moaning after every loss does no one any good. It will play out the same way regardless of tantrums on tigernet.

VT seems to be improving under their Williams.***

The fact that he's been here this long shows how accustomed we've become to sucking at basketball. A school with expectations would've demanded better. I really thought we had something to look forward to with Bgame coming back.....

Thats exactly it man. Theyve never really had any high expectations for Brownell, in my opinion. The only time he goes to the NCAA tourny is with a team that isnt his, he gets a contract renewal for losing in the NIT (although I'll give him credit, it was a deep run)...BUT he still had a losing record in conference when he got that renewal (a losing conference record which he still has), got himself a brand new stadium and can barely even win in it. He cant recruit AT ALL. Its one bad joke after another with him, and there's no more room for excuses. This team is much better than he's coaching it to be. He's got to go.

Approaching a decade with this guy....a decade.

It is like we decided to just try out a meth habit and kill some good years.

You harped on his losing conference record twice

Jan 23, 2017, 11:04 PM [ in reply to Re: I may be the last Brownell supporter here ]

but he actually has the highest ACC winning percentage in Clemson basketball history. Let that sink in.

I'm not suggesting that we give him more time, because we obviously need a change. But the guy hasn't done nearly as badly as some here suggest. What's hurting his perception is that he followed a coach who had us in the NCAAs several years in a row. If he had followed Shyatt, Ellis, or just about any other coach in Clemson history, his tenure would not look nearly as bad.

Time for a change though.

Yet another Brown L in the books.

Terribly disappointing, and regrettably I see no ability in him to improve in his game coaching and management. He is simply not growing as a coach. This is as good as it's ever going to get, and it's just not near good enough.

To argue with the OP, Virginia Tech is a pretty good darn BB team and Buzz has done an incredible job there.

Heck, VT recruiting class last year included 4 players that were ranked at least 4 stars by one or more recruiting service. They have real talent on that team now.

The Turkey's have a brutal stretch coming up so we will see how they perform and if they can make the tourney.
