NIL & Softball

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to the Clemson Softball team! Well done! That was a great tournament to watch.

I was just wondering if there are any players doing an NIL.

Whenever I see a player's interview after a game, she is always well spoken and just fun to watch. Seems like they all could do some kind of commercial for some company.

I'm hopeful that they are at least getting some walking-around money from jersey sales.

Go Tigers AND Stay Well Clemson Nation!

Is it any of your business to know what they may have a NIL deal with, as long as it is legal?

Why not publicize it, so that fans can support the company

doing the NIL, possibly leading to more offers for more players? Wasn't that the point of NIL?

What a stupid thing to say.

NIL is supposed to be companies paying players to use them in advertising.

Why would anyone want to keep that secret?

Chill bigun. NIL is open for all college athletes and should be spread around. If it's open whether any players are getting it or not, then it may help get a recruit and future of the program. I don't think anyone cares how much they get but rather if they get NIL.

Val has one with TCI and may have others. Also I believe CU gives each student Athlete ~ $6K Per year which is in addition to the COA stipend which I think is $5K ish per year.

I didn't realize NIL was a touchy subject for some people.

If you were a business owner how much money would you invest on a softball player that very few people would recognize? There is nothing fair or equal about how women college athletes will be paid.

I'd pay her some walking-around money, for sure.

Unlike what you think, I think she would be very recognizable in the Upstate market. Have you seen how many fans attended this season's home games?

A lot of the NIL contracts are through social media, not traditional media. I'm sure Val and Millie and others have pretty sizeable followers on Insta and others where they could publicize people's products. I hope they have some good deals - they deserve them!

Not sure I’d be so sure about that. Women’s basketball is behind only football in NIL deals. I have no clue how the softball team does with NIL (Val does have some deals) but I suspect more deal might be forthcoming on top of whatever ones exist.
