Basket for the win, because he (and everyone else) seemed to struggle from the line.

they struggle from the foul line because most of them simply do not know the proper technique to shoot a free throw. It's all about squaring up to the basket, eyes on the front of the rim, slightly bending the knees and using the shooting arm/hand like a piston which generates an automatic follow thru.. The motion must be in synch and once a person catches on it is very easy.
On the Tigers one guy shoots a line drive, another fails to bend his knees, another shoots with a jerky motion etc.

I don't think our problem is lack of work or form..

I can assure u that browned land co know how to teach shooting. It's 75% about confidence. And confidence breeds confidence. Right now, we are lacking in that department from the free throw line.

Easley: I respectfully disagree re the foul shooting issue. If one looks at the free throw form the points I made are very accurate and true. For example, Josh Smith jerks the free throw towards the basket. There is very little rhythm in his shots. Another example is Grantham--he will be a great player--but his free throws are on a line to the basket with very little arc..
Perhaps Brad can coach this perhaps not because there are more important things to concentrate on with this team. Shot selection is very bad--at times--and in the game today there were 3 times where we literally passed the ball directly to the WF players.
In any case I'm writing an e-mail to Brad with an offer he can't refuse so to speak.
Another fact is that poor free throw shooting form can be a direct result of poor jump shooting tech niques. Cure one, just might cure both.

I'd coach free throw shooting for $40,000/year

easleytiger: So would I!! See you coach baseball. If you had a pitcher that had a different windup on every pitch, I bet you'd get him to use the same windup for all pitches when no one is on base. You'd have him develop a routine. No different in golfing either hitting the ball or putting--it'd all about the routine both pre-shot and execution. That is what they need work on.
If you get the job be careful cause I'd take it for maybe $20,000 per year plus tickets to FB, BB, Baseball etc.

They hit them last year, what has changed is KJ shot

85% and took the most free throws. Many freshmen struggle at the line like Grantham has. Hall, Harrison, Roper and JB are all fine there. Nnoko lacks confidence right now as he was close to 70% 3 weeks ago. Djitte has greatly improved over last year as has Smith, but neither are who you want at the line, and they took 10 between them today. Last 2 games have been awful, but prior to that we were doing well over the last 6 weeks. Really is more dependent on who is taking them
