Auburn player yanking on Boyd's helmet on the reviewed "fumble" play. Boyd had to leave for the next play, if you recall.

I don't care what they got away with on this play. We got away with a fumble even after a review. I say take this one and walk away.

Dude that was a fumble and is confirmed a fumble when the call on the field is fumble 99/100. We got extremely lucky with that play. Only the biggest of homers would try to make an argument that he was down.
And where is the pick'um this year?

arm, then his knee hit the ground and it came out. It was the correct call, the replay even agreed as they overturned it, they didn't let the play stand. How is that being a homer?
The pick'em is where it always is.

That is always ruled as "the ball was coming out and player did not have complete control"....to say he had complete control before hitting the ground you would have be really homerish. We got extremely lucky, period.
I'm always in the mange and you used to post reminders in the mange. I'll go search for it.

had control as his knee hit the turf. Contact with the ground caused it to come loose. As he was going down, yes, the ball came out of his grasp for a brief instant, but then he trapped it against his body until contact made it come out.

The replay official must also be a homer.

They found "indisputable video evidence" it was not a fumble and overturned the call on the field. Had it been in question they would have let the play stand.

He may have pinched it in his arm but that is not enough to count as possession. He clearly lost possession when the ball was punched by the defender. Also the ball is bobbled again almost at the same time, if not before, his knee hits the ground. We were very lucky, but I will take it.

Also his knee was down long before. And I would rather loose the ball before Tajh gets seriously hurt. Send the pick to the ACC, NCAA, and lets get a 25 yard penalty for snatching of the helmet. If they want safety, then make it safe!!!

That's crazy talk, where does it end. Hopefully not after a player looses an eye, or getting a broke neck b/c the helmet is so tightly strapped on.

I thought I had heard on another broadcast that you only have to sit a play if the helmet comes off during a play and is not the result of another player trying to take your head off. If that is truly the case, then all but one of Tajh's helmet-losses should not have resulted in him sitting.

Trained booth officials making a judgement call after viewing a play from a number of different angles is lot different than a "no call" by on-field officials on a deliberate attempt to pull a players helmet off---one that could have resulted in injury.
Considering Boyd's fumble WAS reviewed by officials, I really don't see how you can say "we got away with..." anything.

should be a 15 yard personal foul penalty and Auburn got away with it three times on Saturday night.

Definitely a face mask penalty. I hope a copy of this is sent to the ACC Officials too.

I'd say ejection from the game would be better.

15 yards just ain't enough to deter criminals from doing serious harm. If anyone thinks ejections is harsh then I'd go along with assault of a high and aggravated nature charge.

I mean they were doing this 2 years ago. I still remember an Auburn O-lineman pulling off Brandon Thompson's helmet on the drive that put Auburn ahead late in that game near the goal line. No call was made their either. They are just a dirty team point blank and this Rule change only helps them with that.

He's clearly down here and his helmet was still on. I know it was a fumble and the play resumed on the field, but when the call got reversed, Boyd should've been able to stay in the game, right?
Being that he was down and all.....
