Tonight is sure to be an interesting one

Driving my mother over to Augusta so she can visit with a couple that were my parent's best friends going all the way back to as long as I can remember. They have known me pretty much my whole life. The health of the husband has declined fairly quickly in the past 4-5 months, so they are moving to Connecticut to be closer to their son and grandchildren. In my 50 years, I don't think I have had the experience of saying goodbye to someone and knowing for almost certainty that the next time you see them will be their funeral. Not sure how this will go. Will be trippy for sure.
