NFL is laced with quality WR's from Clemson right now

emoji_events [9]

Mike Williams
Sammy W.
Hunter Renfrow
Nuk Hopkins
Amari Rodgers (although he isnt getting the playing
and i think he is battling Covid)
Ray Ray McCloud
Artavis Scott (was on scout team but I think just got
activated)
Dein Cain - has played for years but i think is in a
Camp or Scout team
Tee Higgins
Cornell Powell - is still tied to Kansas but playing in
Euro league

I am sure I probably forgot someone. I think at least 5 maybe 6 can claim 1000yd seasons. This is current NFL players, why wouldn't stud WR's not want to come to Clemson??

Right now, I'm not sure what our NFL WR prospects are that have committed to Clemson or are here but seems like we are down a little in quality. I think Ross will get completely healthy and he will produce in the NFL. Currently on the team, after losing Ajou and Ladson, I see a lot of promise in the Collins. I am not sure if Ngata and EJ cam stay on the field. We may be pleasantly surprised by Stellato. Spector sure has had a hard time seeing the field, I know he had Covid but I don't know if he has the moxie to wear #13 at Clemson from what I have seen.

I guess I say this just to question why we are lacking top 5 WR's knocking out door down. Seems like Jeff Scott was the catalyst that brought in those high talent WRs. Hopefully the Collins Towers, Stellato, and EJ can get our WRU mantra kicking. Or maybe Ngata matures and can block better.

Last thought. Why in the heck did we not offer Djs cousin who wanted to get invite to Clemson? Tetairoa McMillan more than once posted on Twitter his interest in Clemson and even had his coach post a comment about his interests. He is the #5 WR in the 2022 class, expressed interests, and we still never offered. Now we are offering kids that are not even ranked in some scouting reports. Nothing against Turner, happy he got an offer but why not a 4-5* that had basically begged for offer. Color me confused on that one.

Adam Humphries as well! Might be hurt now, but was playing good for Washington.

(Was just telling my stepson about Martavis Bryant.....if he could just stay away from the wacky-backy)

Pretty naive to think that it was just pot that he had a problem with. Josh Gordon has been reinstated many many times

Don't worry! We have Tyler Grisham as WR coach! He may not have experience, but he does have a Clemson degree.

Yeah, I love Dabo but this craze to hire internal, schollie walk-ons and not offering a top 5 WR that is related to our QB and wants an offer, this drives the "color me confused" comment. I wouldn't want a different HC other than Dabo currently but our roster management is so puzzlingly.

I know, go ahead and throw the "beating a dead horse" gif at me now. But how does not offering DJs 4-5* wr cousin and offering Turner make any sense to anyone. I will stand behind Dabo but would love to know how we can't even fill our roster with schollie players.

I was referring to the STUDENT 2021 label on this poster. Some Clemson students/fans have no idea what it was like in another era of Clemson Football. They only know the last 10 years. Others of us do remember.

Here's what I think.

I always find it funny when Joe Fan thinks he has a better perspective from his living room couch than one of the best coaches in the business and the most successful Head Coach and CEO of the Clemson University Football Program, ever. Not only locally, but can you grasp the weight of Dabo Swinney being the 6th fastest coach in the entire history of college football to get 150 wins ? He's not Jesus, but he's also not you.

It's cool if you want to vent an opinion, but please don't be so out of touch with reality to think you have a better grasp of what needs to be done for the future of our football program. You must think these guys sit around and do nothing all day? Fact is, they get more work done into the football program by 10:00 in the morning then you will in your entire life.

Do you think anything anyone states as an opinion on this forum is somehow lost on the men who have dedicated their lives to the game of college football, namely Clemson University? The very men who have presented you with the gift of the best era in program history? You really think you have a better handle on things than them? Give Dabo a call. You will be able to get through to him if you try hard enough. Give him your insights and knowledge.. I'm sure you could give him a few things he's never thought of.

Let the forum know how it turns out.

Your responding to a post where he is bashing a former Clemson receiver who went on to play for the Steelers for 3 seasons who the worked his way from GA, to Analyst, to Wide Receiver Coach for having no experience because that totally holds water.

If you were DJ’s cousin how would you feel about Clemson after seeing how many fans have treated DJ this past season. Somewhere early during this year of adversity we have lost that Clemson Family Culture. Many fans have thrown several coaches and players under the bus. Some in a very Public way.

Current players and recruit’s read what fans say about their Coaches and Players. So as a recruit after reading Tigernet all year , how would you see Clemson??? Think about it.

Negative post may have already cost us recruits! We all should think before we post especially something negative.

So far he's not getting it done

[3]
Jan 3, 2022, 12:24 AM

if you take production, development, or recruiting into account.

We have some of the best WRs from our school in the NFL tearing it up now and the head coach of two national championships a former WR coach himself but being out-recruited by North Carolina for WRs.

He is one of the main reasons I question the Streeter hire, we got no good experience/proven track record type of people on our offensive staff now. Combine that with the questionable play-calling this year and it paints a picture.

We sank from a top offense to one of the worst in all of college football and that wasn't enough to look outside the staff.

My biggest worry now is complacency and the coaching staff being content with their current accomplishments and culture. And if that's the way it's going to go I will support Dabo until the end with whatever he wants to do.

What I won't do is pretend that I think everything is great with the program on offense at least.

The world of conversation online has been confused with name calling and ppl flipping the ###### to name-calling. Forums used to be fun. There were good jokes, there were great educational posts, and there was great entertainment.

Now i see no conversation, ppl calling others names, and a simple breakdown of normal communication.

And watch, someone will post something negative and TD this post because they think its funny.

If you are so inclined, and in the interest of bettering the program, can you and a couple of the other forum coaches get together and create a list of the problems? Throw in some suggestions for improvement, otherwise it just comes across as complaining. We can send it to Coach Swinney for his perusal.

Do you have anything to actually add to this discussion other than to parrot other non-rebuttals you've seen from other, more competent posters than you?

I didn't think so.

Re: Yawn

Jan 4, 2022, 4:09 PM

I think what I mentioned does add to the discussion.

Some of you guy seem to think that after a 10 win season, with an obvious elephant in the room, that we've somehow screwed up roster management, or that we haven't signed 20 guys from the portal, or that we haven't dished out millions in bogus NIL money.

I just don't see what all the panic is or how any of these things relate to our season, and that's why I'm asking. I'm not sure what makes you think your comments are more meaningful than mine? Regardless, your "competent" comment is asinine, friend. It lends credence to my "whining" comment and makes you look like a jerk.

So, please list the problems that have cost us wins this year, and what are your suggestions for improvement? I'm sincerely curious what you're referring to? To be honest, you really just come across as whining and complaining because you don't like that we only won 10 games (for the 3rd best record ever of 11 straight years).

Other than the elephant in the room and an unprecedented in-season reduction to our receiving group, what are all these problems and how have they created a failing program, and what are your ideas for winning national championships every year?

I never said everything was great. We have had some adversity this year but slamming player’s and coaches IMO does not accomplish anything. College Football has changed drastically in the last 2 or 3 years.

Dabo knows Brandon Streeter and the new DC much better than the fans do. And I don’t see Clemson getting complacent. We had 10 wins in 11 straight seasons a long with many great accomplishments. I still see fire in Dabo’s eyes. IMO it’s many of the fans who have started posting so many negative comments about coaches and players. Losing coaches at most schools has a negative affect on recruiting.

Before I start thinking Clemson needs outside staff I am going to give Dabo the benefit of the doubt. I think he has earned. You take away NIL and the TP and I think Clemson is still in CFP.

If Dabo or coaches leave, players leave or recruit’s go elsewhere, I believe it will be partly Clemson fans responsibility because of their constant bi$chi$g. After 1 season of Adversity.

Nuk is out with injuries and Adam Humphries is in the starting line up for Washington I believe. Hunter Renfrow has become the leading receiver and go to guy for the Raiders. But you’re right Tommy Bowden and Dabo have put some awesome players in the NFL.

I hope kids do not get blindsided by NIL and I hope they are more patient before hitting the TP. Clemson is a college football program with the tight priorities and goals in their correct order. Bama is a football program that just happens to have college classes but winning only their only priority. That goes for other schools as well.

All we can hope for is that the kids Dabo and his staff are recruiting will not get caught up in NiL $$$$$. These are immature kids that need guidance to become good men. With schools like Bama, LSU, FSU, FU and other schools the are more concerned with wins and loses using NIL as their main recruiting tool I don’t know how it will affect Clemson’s future. If you can keep the parents and HS coaches on the same message that Dabo and his staff teaches them I feel really great about the future. Even some kids realize money is not everything.

If we can get these recruits to see it the Clemson way I can see WRU and Defense U rebuild and become 2 deep again at most every position. I hope the future recruits will learn from Mario Goodrich. He could possibly our poster player to use in recruiting.

One of the best lesson’s in life my Dad taught me was when I grew up with kids of my own I would understand what he taught me. Spending time with your kids will have a more positive affect on them than money or what my Dad bought me. I hope these recruits will believe that same lesson because it is so true.

If recruit’s read this post try to remember time is more important than money. Once time is gone you cannot get it back, but you can always make up the lose of money.

Clemson is the greatest school for academic’s and athletics as well as overall moral culture.

Dabo has created a developmental program. His first NC was with a team that ranked 16th in recruiting. First team to win a Natty that wasn't a top 10 recruiting avg since Stoops won at Ok in 2003 or 2004. But our current era isn't going to allow development to be a factor because kids sitting on the pine or seeing $$ being offered at other programs will leave in a year or 2. Problem is the 3rd and 4th years are the critical years for a team to make their run at greatness. Dabo will have to change his game plan soon to be able to stay competitive. Dabo hasn't lost any abilities, he just has to modify his roster management.

It does make you wonder if losing Jeff Scott hurt WAAAAAAY MORE than most thought/expected it to.......recruiting wise, development wise, even maybe game planning wise in the Co-coordinator spot.

Jan 3, 2022, 8:52 AM

Birningstool could turn into a great receiver. Yes, I said great. He made several great catches this year and could turn into our next Hunter Renfrow or 3rd down Brown type receiver… and we need a great slot receiver to step up. Our QB situation and WR injuries are things that make 2021 hard to measure ?????

But, what I saw from Birningstool was impressive in limited time. Also TE Davis Allen, with better QB play, is a weapon. His hands are great, just seems to be a bit slow after the catch or maybe I’m wrong about that.

I’m excited for possibilities next year, 2022 could be great!! DJ getting healthy, having the freshman phenom Klubnik coming in, Taylor & Helms continue to develop, WR healthy, big big big improvement will be seen ????
