NFL explains no call on Tee Higgins' TD play in Super Bowl

Feb 17, 2022, 12:04 PM

“Our rule is that if there is a grab and twist and turn, there’s enough for a foul,” NFL official Robert Torbert told PFWA pool reporter Joe Reedy, according to CBS Sports. “If there’s just a rake across the facemask, where there’s not a twist and turn even if there’s a grab, there is no foul. The officials did not see any contact that rose to the level of a foul for a 15-yard facemask.”

It was subtle but there was definitely a turn of the head. It should have been called. I think the Ramsey kinda took a dive after the facemask, too, but still should have been called.

twist AND turn is what the man said.....

turn alone would not do it...

I agree it wasn’t a facemask

But it was likely an offensive PI. They didn’t explain that away.

Glad for Tee, though. And Oak Whatever high school

Of note, the talking heads never mention the no call earlier in the game when Ramsey grabbed and pulled Tee's jersey/t-shirt on the slant he ran at the goal line. But for that, Tee might have had another TD.

Once again, the NFL fails to tell the truth.
It is only a foul if the NFL throws the flag .Does not matter if is just a rake across the face, or one player pulls the other's guys pants down and kisses his @$$ ,if there is no flag there is no foul.
