New Story: Wilkie comes through again, Tigers calm the Red Storm to advance

Wilkie comes through again, Tigers calm the Red Storm to advance

Kyle Wilkie’s two-out, two-run double off the wall in left erased that two-run deficit and propelled top-seed Clemson to a 9-8 victory over St. John’s in game five of the NCAA Clemson Regional Sunday. Clemson advances to play Vanderbilt in a game that will start at 6 p.m. If Vanderbilt wins, the Commodores advance to a Super Regional. If Clemson wins, the teams will meet again Monday at 4 p.m. (Photo by David Grooms) Full Story »

Seeing that Seth's homer was the 56th of his career,

I was duly impressed and curious about where young Mr. Beer stood in the annals of NCAA homer-dom.....Not even close......Pete Incaviglia (had a terrific pro career) while at OklaSt from '83-'85 tallied 100 homeruns......he also owns the single-season record with 48.....and the list is pretty crowded between Incaviglia and Beer, too. But still VERY proud of what Seth has done while in a Tiger uniform and will be watching his pro career closely as well when that day finally comes (and hopefully its not any time soon)

If Seth played in the aluminum bat era he would probably be very close to ,if not over, 100 career HRs

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.
