That ship sailed a few years ago.
Everybody knows the ACC is one of the best football conferences (if not the best) over the last 5 years. If they dispute that fact, they're in denial.
The question is whether the ACC is the best conference.

IMO, the real question is whether the ACC continues to lead all Power 5 Conferences in head to head games, both regular season and post season. ACC has done well for a few years, but they need to continue. Consistency is not measured by 1 or 2 years. I think we stack up pretty well for the recent past and perhaps the next few years to most people who honestly look at results instead of talk. Time will tell.
Remember, all analysts talk for today. Few remember or care what they said last year.

the two common issues for me are the assumption that a team from a conference is going to be "good" or "bad" simply because they are affiliated with a particular group of teams... (ask Michigan about App State, ask the coots about The Citadel, East Carolina and Marshall, ask Bama about Louisiana Monroe or ask Florida about Georgia Southern) or that a certain conference has the best players, like players are "sec" players just because they play for vandy, kentucky, missouri or the coots (any player on any team can be great or not worthy of the scholly)
but as my good friend Brentson Buckner once said, conferences don't make teams good, teams make conferences good... just as the author has pointed out as well... Miami getting gassed the last 10 years has nothing to do with Clemson's rise to the natty, nor does Miami's rise this year reflect on FSU getting gassed... i just hate the irrational and factually flawed debates...
