will Louisville simply replace Maryland in the Atlantic or will they revamp the divisions?

Pitt is in the coastal and Syracuse the Atlantic am I right?

Going off the Big 10 division names and a suggestion of Tom O'Brien (I think), an intriguing idea is to group the old ACC and the new schools. Source of names: ACC motto (a tradition of excellence-then, now, and always)

Tradition Division
Clemson
UNC
Duke
WF
NC State
UVA
GT

Excellence
FSU
Miami
VT
BC
Pitt
Cuse
UL

Biggest problem I see is that it concentrates football power into one division. Another option: North/South

North
Pitt
BC
Cuse
VT
UVA
UL
WF

South
UNC
NCSU
Duke
Clemson
GT
FSU
Miami

Biggest problem here: splits up Big Four (not that I have a problem with that), though current divisions are a precedent.

If FSU and Clemson are going to remain in the acc. They should put Clemson in one divsion, and FSU in the other.

Definitely keep the two powers: Us and FSU

In separate divisions. Totally agree!

While the north/south option makes more geographic sense, you would run into the same problem of imbalance that you have today.

ACC Championship would probably be FSU vs. Pitt in 2012.

I say put Wake Forest in the South and Miami in the North. Miami has to fly everywhere anyway. Once Miami recovers they will add a little bit of balance.
