Could a season of mediocrity be good for Clemson Football ?

Sep 27, 2021, 8:44 PM

I hate to suggest it , but might the recruiting pitch gain some added intensity and needed plausibility for a lot of recruits who've worried about sitting ?
Not spinning , just thinking that a shot in the arm can sometimes be just what the Dabo ordered.

Hard times produce strong men.
Strong men lead to prosperous times.
Prosperous times produce soft men.
Soft men lead to hard times.

Turn, turn, turn.

Never can understand what drives kids

With our recent r3cord of success and the loud voices criticizing our online and about, you would think that the phone lines would be burning up with calls from recruits at those positions. But maybe the criticism of the coaches makes them decide not to call.

Why do kids want to go to Alabama and watch teammates win championships when they can go to contenders with less talent and actually contribute to them?

You always appreciate the sunshine more after a few days of rain!!!
Tigers obviously need to tweak some things and get their heads right, but I'll never count Dabo out!!
The cupboard is STOCKED and we'll be ok going forward, just need to persevere and LEARN thru this seasons storm.

Go Tigers!!!

Amen brother.

I'd take a season of mediocrity right now. That's not where

Sep 27, 2021, 9:02 PM

we're headed. We are #121 in offense and our defense is banged up beyond belief because of the time on the field.

No, kids want to win. Alabama signs a million 5 Stars a year because they win every single year. The best class Clemson has signed happened after a blowout national title. I get you want to find a silver lining, but a mediocre season will be a huge blow to recruiting.

It isn't good for the program, but there could be a silver lining for some of us loyal Tigers who would like to improve our seat assignemnts.

Doubt it has any real impact on ‘22 recruiting class. More likely it wakes up Dabo about the revamp needed on offense. A 9-3 or 8-4 type of season is going to force changes that have been simmering for awhile on offense. It also wakes of the program to complacency. It’s easy for the team to say they are motivated after being clobbered by OhioSt but a down year makes it much more real.
